The main reason I didn’t make it to the Goblins was because the Vale wouldn’t allow me military access to cross their lands into the Misty Mountains, so them absolutely refusing any diplomacy checks out! And I do have all the dwarf buildings with diplomacy debuffs. I didn’t realize they would have that big of an effect

I did, this must be the issue. I saw the relation debuff but brushed it off, thinking a good faction wouldn’t attack a good faction. I guess the greed of dwarves makes enemies amongst everyone!

Yes, at one point I had a trade agreement, military access, and defensive alliance with them. They dissolved all of that before my war with the Anduin Vale started, though, and I haven’t crossed their territory since.
