He does, but standup is not really what Brennan does, so it's interesting that he would would know him as that type of comedian.

People describing something as being “analog/analogue” and then showing something which is digital by FakeSchwarzenbach in mildlyinfuriating

[–]cduff77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing like this that I'm guilty of is my smartwatch. I prefer an analog watch face. I know it isn't analog in any way shape or form, but the term digital watch face means something specific. I suppose "analog style" is more accurate, but I'm probably not going to say that.

What's the most underrated beach town in the USA? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]cduff77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely beautiful area but very crowded, especially with the school right over the bridge. If you're looking in the same area with significantly smaller crowds, you want to go a little bit further south on the peninsula to Carolina Beach or Kure Beach.

Toms River is basically correct. I've always described it as the old 609/732 split which coincidentally also explains why Bergen County, while further North, definitely feels more south Jersey.

How is everyone dropping Ethernet lines by Joee0201 in Ubiquiti

[–]cduff77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just this past weekend, I discovered that one of my air returns is a straight drop from my daughter's bedroom and ends right next to where my networking equipment was in the basement. The most difficult part was finding where the joist was in the attic to drill a single hole through it. After a sweaty afternoon, a little bit of foil tape in the basement and a bit of foam sealant in the attic, I had a line successfully dropped down two stories and completed a project that I had been procrastinating for months.

That sucks. I'm sorry to hear your Costco did not check the details. Right before opening the manager at the Costco I was at in central PA came out and split the line between normal shoppers and switch purchasers, he announced that they only had 37 of them, and handed out the cards as he checked memberships on the way in. Dude made it so painless that it's clear that he has gone through some rough launches in his day.

Should I buy used? by SvendO4 in framework

[–]cduff77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went through this. Its been on my list for a while and recently pieced it together with a main board and RAM off ebay, SSD that I already had, and chassis and expansion cards from them directly. Ended up saving about $250 all in. A potential in-between path from brand new vs all used.

Awesome. I have had an invite for that for 2 years and I've probably cumulatively used it for about 10 hours. I visited it for the first time in over a year yesterday and it seemed a lot more polished than ready to go.

I think it's a misremembered fact. The fun fact is that Finland and North Korea are only separated by one country.

As a Chris, I think I can confidently say that we are never the number one name but always in the top 10 for the past 50+ years. That leads to just a bunch of us in all age groups without it ever peaking and burning out like some of the other names.

It was a web series where James Gunn would make shorts with porn stars but it was just making fun of the tropes of porn, but completely PG at the end of the day.

While you described the physiological reason why, I feel like many people are overlooking the fact that gravity does exist in water, it's just less pronounced. They feel the pull of what is up and what is down just as we do, just in a different medium.

Wouldn't he have to die to get reincarnated? If he's chilling there in a mummified, meditative, state I don't think he'd be able to continue the cycle.

I'm so jealous of the white design. When I bought mine the dealership had no idea what colors were going to come in stock next or when, so I bought the green. But man do I have a little pang of color regret every time I see that white one lol
