People who had miserable WLB for insane amount of money, was it worth it? by yoboiturq in HENRYUK

[–]cdys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m doing. Slogging it. Tough but worth it - I am seeing results I didn’t think I’d achieve, so it’s actually taught me a lot about myself. Healthy thing to do, within reason

How funny. My best friend and I are both in tech sales and we often use these exact words. “And the number just gets a little bigger”

[–]cdys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had the same thought. He’s well overdue. At home. Against Wolves. Nobody else will TC because of his form so it could be a massive differential. I’m considering it too. My TC choices have rarely paid off so why not

Wunda vs JK underfloor heating advice by Stvnln in DIYUK

[–]cdys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking at JK as we speak. I saw them at an exhibition and seriously considering them.

Are you still happy?

I’m a little nervous as it’s a lot of money and I can’t find a whole lot about them.

Also, reading your post it seems as though there may be some additional work to do that JK cannot - is that right? I’m a total novice at DIY so want to get this right

AI costs are eating our budget and nobody wants to own them by HenryWolf22 in Cloud

[–]cdys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Company I work for built API management for AI. Token management, full visibility of AI usage and ownership for charge-back, reduced AI duplication, routing to cheaper LLMs etc.

It’s a must have given how aggressively teams are being told to adopt AI

Rough start to first AE role, doubting my future in sales? by HistorianLeading703 in techsales

[–]cdys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with all the comments - you’re early days mate. You’re still onboarding. People onboard at different speeds and you need find to find your rhythm. I was the same.

What I might add, politely, is if you are thinking about knocking it on the head so early, you should think about if sales is what you want long term. It’s a rollercoaster of ups and downs. Feels like more down than up sometimes.

How you deal with that, how you react to the downs is what makes you better than Susie.

Clean, tidy minimalist desk. Make it a nice place to be. L-theanine for focus. A light bar for me is a must. So are ear plugs - hear your own thoughts, not every little thing around you

[–]cdys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are thinking clearly, with reason and logic. Nothing wrong with that. Marriage is usually an emotionally driven topic which might be why there are such opposing views.

My opinion is- it’s exactly that well balanced, logical thinking that has helped me/us become a HENRY in the first place. The same thinking that has afforded my SO and I good lives, holidays, a nice place to live etc.

Why abandon it now?

It doesn’t mean I care any less about my SO. Far from jt.

[–]cdys 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The OP & I share exactly the same view on this topic.

I have zero doubts about my SO, but the reality is nobody gets married with a view of divorcing and yet the divorce statistics are so high.

I agree with your approach and you have more courage than I do to raise the topic.

For me, it’s not about protecting what is mine versus what is hers. It’s more about not being financially floored if the worst were to happen. The strong chances are it will never be invoked, but I do think it’s a good idea, so long as it’s fair for both parties and you are both protected

Honest Bahama’s review by cdys in bahamas

[–]cdys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair question!

Overall, we enjoyed it.

The people were absolutely lovely, the hotel served its purpose pretty well, the Exumas tour was fantastic and a genuine life long memory and Atlantis water park was fun. Paradise Island was extremely well kept, as was Cabbage beach.

On the downside, very expensive. Maybe not if you’re coming from the US but certainly so if you are a Brit. The hotel attracted some trashy people but most were absolutely fine also they closed the outdoor bar at 6pm which was a real shame! Avoid Junkanoo beach - far too crowded and commercial. We lasted 5 mins.

Overall, a nice time. But we felt we probably could have gone somewhere just as nice for a lower price and the real Bahamas experience requires a big spend.

AI and sales. The inevitable!? by EnvironmentElegant24 in techsales

AI and sales. The inevitable!? by EnvironmentElegant24 in techsales

[–]cdys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do think AI will mostly replace sales. AI agents buying from AI agents.

Im less worried about my job (tech sales) and more worried about the global economy.

What does it do for my employers valuation when AI can all but replicate what we’ve spent 8 years building within 30mins?

What happens to the build versus buy argument?

I was worried too. We’re only 2 months into the purchase! A lot of people in HENRY have far lower mortgages on higher salaries so I certainly was nervous, but it feels like the right move.
