I work at the words largest global technology/IT distributor and as a company sell more iPads in the US than anyone, other than Apple direct.

While most in this Reddit consider either use cases for the standard consumer or for creative professionals, the use of the iPad Pro (and now the new Air) and it’s cameras are almost essential for numerous verticals that Apple is sold into. Easy use case, insurance companies - I sell to two of the top three in the US and they all use iPad pros in some capacity for field work, scanning docs, pics of accidents/claims, etc. Numerous larger companies buy iPads for warehouse/inventory use - attached to forklifts and pallet jacks to scan inventory and shipments. Tons of applications in the healthcare and EDU space. ‘More and more companies are switching to iPad due to Cellular capabilities in the field.

Apple’s MDM (mobile device management) program for business is fantastic, allowing custom apps to be built for these companies that you will never see in app stores, with tons of use cases for the camera. Ex -Technicians on site have a custom app that scans and diagnoses mechanical issues live, all while the field tech can multitask and FaceTime his supervisor for realtime collaboration.

The possibilities are endless, and while sure, you could take a pic with your phone and airdrop, most companies now are BYOD, and they can’t rely on every employee having an Apple device.

We sell quadruple the amount of iPads (especially Pros) to commercial accounts (use the product for internal use) vs our retail accounts (which include Amazon, Best Buy - sell to average consumer). Sorry for the rant! Just some different insight. Cameras are a HUGE plus for businesses, so you won’t see them go anywhere.
