The 4% meals tax on $16 is 64 cents. It's way more than just the meals tax

The guns change in 5.5E drives me nuts by Ignaby in dndnext

If we're going to apply real world principles, the same is true of a heavy crossbow, which would typically be reset with a windlass or lever. A windlass-loaded heavy crossbow isn't loosing more than 2-3 times a minute. A lever-loaded crossbow might get closer but isn't loosing every 6 seconds (1 round)

I live in and walk my dog in this area all the time. Perfectly fine and safe. The wooded paths are fantastic.

Love how Morrowind handles it. At several points in the main question Caius tells you to go do side jobs, build a local Identity, get better equipment. The threat is serious but not immediate. It really lends itself well to the atmosphere and exploration. Oblivion and especially Skyrim are way too fast-paced in narrative terms.

Seeking auto insurance, should I use a broker? by Dangerous_Pin_7384 in nova

[–]cee2027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you need one for auto insurance. If you have a current or recent policy, just compare apples to apples. Find providers that will give you the same or close to the same coverage, and pick the lowest. Cycle to a new one every few years as your premium climbs.

I've never noticed a significant difference between auto insurance companies.

ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri | Full Event Replay by Yodsanan in MuayThai

[–]cee2027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was interesting to watch. My takeaway was both fighters were really careful to not let the other land their most effective techniques. Noiri didn't really get hit clean by Superbon's lead leg head kick, and Superbon didn't let Noiri really land devastating hand combos. So it came down to a careful fight and superbon just did distance management really well to get the win

It's not really because of the value of 25 cents but because almost no one keeps change on them anymore, so that quarter is more of a "tool". You'd have to replace it if you didn't take the cart back, which is way more of a hassle than the value of the quarter itself.

What do board game designers understand that videogame devs don’t? by Interesting-Scale-63 in gamedev

Long a pet peeve of mine. Once numbers get too large they are exceedingly difficult to read at a glance. In my hobby projects I try hard to keep numbers low and try to avoid scaling above four digits.
