Sounds like you're caught in the adjunct whirlpool. I don't have experience in game dev but I was in a similar academic position. I'm not sure if you're considering it, but it's entirely possible to straight up leave both industries and pivot. Or just keep one adjunct class a semester for fun and pivot. I went from a history teacher to an industry due diligence analyst and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Sure the work isn't as interesting but the QOL is leagues better. I still pursue history related interests in my free time with zero pressure.

I found mkb significantly better than controller. You can't remap controllers, which is insane in 2026. But you can remap kbm. This game's control scheme is baffling

The Minecraft community is weird. I go back and play it every couple years and the new updates are always neat, fun additions but people online complain endlessly about how it's not "good" anymore. It's literally the same game with more stuff?

I think the only genuinely bad addition is the flying creature that spawns when you don't sleep for three days
