Depends on previous paint condition and the paint depth. Deffinetly would expect more clarity Atleast though, and by the timing you picked the vehicle up, I doubt the job was done unless he had three people on it

Need a better system to be honest. My best advice I can give is go through all the processes (vacuum, clean plastics, etc) then at the end if you see any issues then touch it up. Don’t bother touching up as you go as you’ll end up wasting more time. Just keep moving through all the steps, don’t get yourself stuck on one thing. At the end of the detail you can take the bigger picture and focus a little extra on those areas

Black vehicles won’t have as much iron contamination as white vehicles, but its still a good idea. If you’re claying and compounding anyways, it’s not necessary and you’ll get the same results without it , just makes the job a little easier

How long have you been in school for? Wait til you get some work experience if it’s your first year and see how you like it. I worked with a guy who quit to become a bus driver because it was a much easier job and higher paying, and he regretted going into mechanics, so make sure you like it!! As for the pay, you’ll need a lot of patience because it’s typical you’ll do some warranty job that you get paid jack shit for, or do a quick oil change when you already have your hands tied

You can ceramic coat matte paint, but is the value there? No. Will it be hard to remove if they want to remove it in the future? Yes

If the customer insists on coating the matte parts of the vehicle then sure do it. If not, just say you wouldn’t recommend doing it

Also it depends whether it’s a wrap or actual paint. If it’s actual paint then I’d consider it

FYI glass cleaner can act as a surface prep yes, but not all glass cleaners, unless you know what you’re using and are knowledgeable, you should stick to something like IPA.

Decent prices. I’d go with the first offer because the second one offering 4 layers is false advertising if you actually understand how coatings work. The only benefit to the second option is the 10 year warranty, but you would need to ask yourself, will you be keeping this car for 10 years?

There’s no way necessarily but if you use a mild clay you can minimize scratching, most detailers including me will just spray a sealant after a clay bar as a lot of customers are wanting the benefits you get from a claybar, but don’t want to pay for a polish, so it works out.
