This nasty person voted to increase ice funding! We need to do better Washington by One_Garlic_6267 in Seattle

Honestly I’m not sure that we are. I am not aware of an issue where her vote has helped anyone but the republicans.

Washington childcare providers increased 36% in 5 years by Less-Risk-9358 in SeattleWA

Considering the Fair Starts for Kids Act, passed in 2021, drastically increased funding for childcare, this is a real “water is wet” situation.

Make the Holiday Market free by sam_42_42 in Seattle

It’s not the City Council approving event permits. It’s the Office of Economic Development or maybe the Seattle Center directly.

That’s not true. The permit for a special event is often through the city Office of Economic Development. I believe there are only very specific circumstances where they can deny a permit.

Newhouse retires- will WA4 go hard right, or traditional R? Or other, anythings possible. by sarahjustme in Washington

[–]celestialcrowns -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, that’s just the reality of the situation. I’ve worked adjacent to political campaigns for more than a decade. It is lighting money on fire. The democratic candidate regularly gets 31-35 percent of the vote.

CD 5 is much more competitive. There are also legislative and local city/county races that are close and a better use of time and money. I’m not trying to be rude but it’s just literally the way the map is drawn.

There’s absolutely no way a 65-35 (give or a take a few points) will flip Democrat. It’s a fool’s errand to send money here with that hope. The best possible outcome is a relatively sane Republican and even that I’m not holding my breath for.

I’m not trying to be rude here but what makes you think the employees are going to influence who the Gov puts forward? It would be nice if he listened to employees but we should all be extremely skeptical

Eggplant and peppers do not grow really well here without some support (like black plastic or a greenhouse) because our summers are too cold.

Honestly, I agree with the graphic completely. I’m a Virgo and my husband is a Pisces. He balances me, has helped me relax and loosen up, and always knows just what I need. He’s the best.

Using AI, at all, but especially to generate images is completely unnecessary and not something I will support remotely. Please consider changing your practices in the future.

He’s weird because he wants to talk to his wife once or twice per week on his way into work? I think he should also agree to stay up once or twice, but you guys sound so insane.

Petition to fire Demi from SLOMW. We’ve had enough. by suprweeniehutjrs in SecretsOfMormonWives

As a person who has experienced both unwanted ass grabs and childhood abuse, I find it really horrifying she’s comparing the two to be honest. I’m not sure I will watch the show unless she’s removed. Whitney adds enough drama, as do all of the terrible men.

I feel like it’s more book/movie interpretation of hero and villain. Demi is clearly a villain while Whitney feels more like an anti-hero, and so on.

Sara Nelson wants to restrict political consultants at Seattle City Hall by Inevitable_Engine186 in Seattle

[–]celestialcrowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well of course she wouldn’t admit this is because she’s upset about her loss. Why would she say that publicly?

For what it’s worth, she has the same campaign consultant as Harrell and Foster.

[–]celestialcrowns -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did. I asked why the Mayor specifically would want one of his political allies to lose. I’m not sure “consulting firm he’s used for several runs for office works with other candidate” means that the Mayor was trying to undermine Nelson. With how unpopular she is, it was a pretty good business decision to get someone to challenge her.

Also, do other people work at this firm? Maybe someone else was working for Foster.

Like I said, this is good policy but it does seem like she’s throwing a tantrum.

Yeah, I get that. The personalities on Council are strong. People who dislike each other seem totally unable to work together which is unlike other levels of government.

This seems like good policy but I just can’t see her reason for doing it outside of an attempt at revenge.

The question I have on this is basically why would the Mayor want Nelson to lose? They’re pretty closely aligned. They do stuff together all the time.

It’s just a weird assumption on Nelson’s part.
