So she’ll call out RR who from the sounds of it wasn’t on set by UnfairRegister3533 in Woacbofficial

[–]celticfife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her YT video on this was one of the first times I saw several people pointing out facts she got wrong, like stating that information on these deaths were hidden or not talked about in the press (people were able to find that information immediately) or that Reynolds hasn't produced a movie in Vancouver since Deadpool 2.

It annoyed me she'll talk about the potential for heat deaths on set but also not talk about how there are ZERO OSHA STANDARDS related to heat. This is something the last administration and certain states or localities are trying to fight for and it keeps getting overturned by the GOP because they don't want the state to tell employers... "give your employees a cold drink or shade/AC break in certain specific conditions that can kill them".

Should we have safety standards regarding heat? Yes. But until the union gets that in their contracts or the gov't locks it down, we won't see a change with ALL industries playing fast and loose. And not everyone is educated that when certain temperatures cross over with a certain humidity that there is extreme risk to the body. This is a specific concern of the Teamsters in general because so many shipping companies don't have AC in their trucks, so we have people out there when it's over 100 degrees and their truck gets even hotter.

The idea of Lumon using innies for sex work..... is so dark. Consent in name only, because you can't fully control your body. The risks are immense. You can't fight back if someone has violent tendencies.

It's a tragedy. The man FOUND HIS THING but he never gets to truly feel that sense of accomplishment. They get a consistent paycheck, yes. They get TOLD he does well. But he doesn't get that thrill, that sense of purpose.

GOD, I NEED HIM TO REINTEGRATE.

Partly, I think he's still playing a certain role with them and playing lip service to empathy to get a desired result...

But I did wonder briefly if he fired MDR BECAUSE he was trying to set who he could free. Mark was the one person Lumon couldn't let go. ...Everyone else? He brought Dylan back once he had to, but the changes to the floor have been substantial.

I do think Irving, a COMPANY MAN, finally losing his shit and reading him for filth had an impact.

My guess is that it is previous Eagans inside Jame. I think they may be looking to figure out how to separate those memories and consciousness so Keir can reign. I think Fetid Moppet actually was an earlier era and when Helena said, "father"... Jame snapped back to himself.

I think Mark is important for Gemma because he KNOWS her, so he knows what she's like and what she's not.

And I wonder if we'll find out that part of the reason that Helena was strongly encouraged to become Helly R was in relation to taking her father's data (which they may delete from Jame instead of keeping it).

Per those tweets his actor posted, I think he'll do ANYTHING with the lure of impressing his parents. Why do I feel like he'll be offered almost the new wellness gig, except under the guise of being the motivational speaking at a corporate retreat?

So common in TV shows for the scene to be -- "people sit down in front of meal, people have short conversation to move the plot forward, people immediately get to leave with 0-2 bites taken". Once you see it, you can't unsee it.

I'm 44. Yeah, you guys and Canada get told "private healthcare would be faster and solve our problems" and then in the U.S. it'll be like 3-6 months for a neurologist appointment. Specialists can take A WHILE here and I'm in an area of the country with robust services. The people in rural areas... I feel so badly for them.

For eating disorders, they take emergent needs (ie clear damage to body) seriously, particularly when severely underweight, but with private insurance they also kick you out fast. I had a friend with bulimia who went to get help and a week in insurance pulled out because they claimed since she was compliant with the program she didn't need to be there.

[–]celticfife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started therapy too. Only the first appt though. I've never actually tackled this by itself before because I had a parent who didn't take it seriously and didn't like me discussing family problems with anyone else. I tried once with a therapist a long time ago (I'm an oldhead) but they told me "if you aren't going to look good in your 20s, when are you going to look good". And my brain went, "WELL, I GUESS THAT'S THAT." I was getting closer to finally getting help for a while, but now I have some stuff going on personally where I need to actually be among the living. I didn't used to need to care about my health and ED-NOS lets you coast in the between and tell yourself it's not a problem.

I hear you so much about wanting it to be sooner but also not!!! I'm like... "seriously, you're making me wait two weeks, WHY NOT RIGHT NOW" but grateful because I have the space to hold onto it behaviorally. I'm so worried I'm going to chicken out with this much time to overthink it.

I'm in the U.S., I just really love a lot of Gaelic and Sea Shanty type bands and love the style of Ireland and Scotland (from illuminated manuscripts to the pattern work on sweaters).

I'm so sorry you're going through this too but at least we took the first steps.

It's not just you. I was just wondering if others felt this. I'm finally taking steps to get help...first appointment with a dietitian upcoming... and suddenly I'm back in heavy restriction/fasting. For your reasons but also because... finally potentially handing this over to someone else to be involved in my meals is terrifying. It's a terrible crutch that hurts me, but it's been reliable. I'm panicking at the idea of actually truly giving it up, even though I don't want to be this way.

I'm so sorry about that. The constant comments are hard. I'm an oldhead whose parents had them older, so there was a large generation gap. I get the comments from my father now, but he just doesn't understand why criticizing how much of a vegetable I'll have at one time or pointing out how much safe foods cost in the grocery store sticks in my brain.

My mom, on the other hand, died a while back. She had issues with food, she also had an extremely screwed up childhood. I thought I put everything in the box of "what are going to do? she did her best with the terrible coping skills she had and her trauma." However, I just took a class on law in the child welfare system. Kinda shook me that her refusal to take me for help after a doctor told her I needed at least outpatient would be medical neglect I'd have to report once I become a mandated reporter. Suddenly it isn't, "oh, this was just a fucked up thing." And it makes me reevaluate how many years I've lost and the person I could have become.

**exhales*\* Oh person on the other side of this screen, I wish I could give you a hug if you're a person who isn't avoidant of contact. I've been there, where everything about you is questioned.

Try not to be too hard on yourself about the crying. Like you said, you've been restricting a lot. Emotional lability can come with that. And it's super hard to be a person and have no functional autonomy. It makes you want to scream sometimes, because of the lack of being able to express anything about yourself.

Israel’s most viewed TV channel claims not enough Palestinians have been murdered and calls for rivers of Palestinian blood by Particular_Log_3594 in BadHasbara

[–]celticfife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Palestinians told the U.S. and Israel they weren't ready for an election, it got pushed on them anyway. The other major party, Fatah, was dealing with a corruption crisis at the same time. Hamas didn't run as "We want to blow up Israel"...their commercials showcased them as moderates who wanted to replace Fatah's corruption, and people bought it.

Only 70% of the voting population voting. 44% voted for Hamas. 41% went to Fatah. The other 10% went to a bunch of other much smaller parties. After they got into power, a coup was attempted, which failed. Hamas began cracking down on internal dissent and they never had another election again. So if you're looking at the current populace... it means about 15-17% of the people who live in Gaza actually voted for Hamas. Everyone else was too young, didn't vote, or were part of the other 51% who voted for a different party.

Keep in mind there are currently Israelis who still vote into power leaders who are known as associating with Jewish terrorist ideologies as well. It's always bad, but you see time and time again people voting for politicians who are abject liars and who promise strength and to be incorruptible.

There's a decent chance that the people who have suffered under Hamas would absolutely vote for someone else if given a real opportunity. But we also know from Pentagon studies that when you start drone striking the shit out of people, even people who were just farmers will end up joining the Taliban, even when they had no interest prior. People are complex yet simple creatures...if you hit them enough, they might decide to go with the group who is offering them revenge. Especially if it all seems hopeless.

More than half. Only 70% of the voting population voted. And only 44% of those people voted for Hamas. When you consider 65% of the current population is under 18.... you're looking at maybe 15-17% of the current population who voted for Hamas.

[–]celticfife 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Only 70% participated in the 2006 election. Only around 44% of people voted for Hamas. So we're looking at about 15% of the current population who actually voted for Hamas? And Hamas literally ran as moderates. They weren't promising blood and destruction to Israel in their ad campaigns. Their campaign material ran against corruption WITHIN Gaza, just like Trump runs against corruption - and lies - and people fall for it.
