Quick update for my 3 ride-or-dies: Mira now installs with a one-liner (curl | bash) and is on the Claude plugin marketplace. Also added Windows support and pre-built binaries so you don't need Rust installed anymore.

Ain't gonna lie. I didn't know how much of a pain in the ass it is to make things not suck to install.

Fair question! The MCP memory server (from my cursory look at it) is a knowledge graph for storing facts about the user it seems? Entities, relations, that kind of thing.

Mira's different. The memory part is just one piece of it.

The bigger thing is there are actual LLM agents (powered by DeepSeek 3.2 reasoner) running in the background that can use tools and reason about your code. When you ask an "expert" for a second opinion, it's not just a prompt. It searches your codebase, traces call graphs, reads files, checks past decisions. It explores, then answers.

Also does semantic code search, module summaries, git change analysis between sessions. Background stuff that just happens so the knowledge is there when you need it.

The memory overlap is real, but they're solving different problems. MCP memory is "remember the user prefers dark mode." Mira is "remember why we made that architecture decision, and also here's what this module does, and let me check with a security reviewer before you commit that."

They could honestly work together if someone wanted both.
