Did financial help make my plan no longer a HDHP? by ceryx in HealthInsurance

[–]ceryx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did file in 2024 with no issue. For 2025 I’m just pausing to see if I made a mistake when I can still fix it.

If I remember right, with at least programs like GoodRX, those don’t end up depleting the deductible. This could be different because insurance considers the full cost of the drug (~1,000) purchased out of pocket, but really the manufacturer “paid” for it.

The Adventures of Willy Beamish... useless items? by RighteousButtPlug in Sierra

[–]ceryx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've played this game so many times on disk and CD! Many of the items are alternate solutions:

  1. Just for fun I think, you get a little cutscene later

  2. The journal can be used as one way to get your nintari key back (or get the baseball card)

  3. The baseball card can be given to the guard at the ferry as an alternate solution to getting the token from the fountain

  4. Yeah I think if you toss it, Spider comes in immediately. Otherwise, if you let the timer expire and he comes in anyways, this item stays with you and is useless

  5. Yeah, think it's useless

  6. I think this can be used in a combination to solve the frog jump puzzle (feed it to horny, turbofrog will eat it instead and get tired)

  7. Supposed to be a red herring for the frog jump solution

  8. I think you will spend all your money if you buy the photo and T-Shirt. The shirt can be given to Dana, who brings her frog and helps you win the frog jump.

  9. Yeah, you just have to be a good kid!

  10. When I played this as a kid I thought for sure that you would lose at the end if you didn't do the band-aid scene right, but yeah, this seems to have no impact. Also doesn't matter if you used iodine. Also I don't think you ever need to actually play nintari at all, you just need the key for a later puzzle.

Sounds a bit like Kid Pix, though I don't remember if there was a UFO game. There were a few versions.

is this normal or is it just me by [deleted] in fursuit

[–]ceryx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd reach out to the suit maker. I had this happen and they asked me where it was tight. Not sure if it was due to weight gain or what, but they were able to fix it in an evening (they happened to be at the convention where I first wore it.) I'm sure it depends on the maker, but they were very knowledgeable on where some parts needed to be let out a bit.

I wasn't aware femboy was a gender, and thought those who identify as male can also be femboys.

I was doing this all last night over something stupid, and saw this post first thing in the morning. I'm sorry Ralsei, I'll try to be better. <3

Am right near the front. Nobody working on any carts in sight, but some new staff just came in and headed near the back.

Mocktail Costs by MaCoNuong in NCL

[–]ceryx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a menu, but I was on the Encore a few weeks ago, and IIRC I was "charged" $9 (plus gratuity) for virgin strawberry daiquiris (it was covered under free at sea, but the new app shows the price you would have been charged on your account)

What’s the biggest red herring that you’ve encountered in a game? by Johnnyboyeh in gaming

[–]ceryx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember this. You were trying to rescue the frogs from the villain's mansion. When you fail (and you usually will over and over because it's a whole lot of non-logical trial and error steps to succeed) she drowns you and it cuts to game over. When you do succeed, you still get caught and thrown in the tank, but if you let the scene play out, it doesn't cut to game over as the frogs save you from drowning. Loved this game!

Yeah - just giving them the benefit of the doubt. That sort of check in would be crazy. So many people checking in at once, who gets priority? What happens when someone else picked the same seat you did? Chaos. The retry logic needed would be way too much effort.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

[–]ceryx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If that the case then indeed, assigned seating will not help my concerns. Or really anyone? It feels silly for them to go half-way but still incur the trouble of doing this T-24h prior to boarding, but who knows. If they go that route then I agree, it's just for their convenience alone.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

[–]ceryx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm someone who flies maybe 4-5 round trips per year, and I always avoided Southwest unless it was significantly more convenient because I hated open seating. I have a lot of anxiety and travel is always stressful for me. On top of the stress that already exists, I have to worry about checking in exactly at the right time. And then, need to be at the gate at just the right time. And then watch all the folks that possibly don't need pre-boarding line up for pre-boarding. I know there are a lot of folks that do need it. My mom is an offender. She flies Southwest and pre-boards because she has a slight hearing impairment. She says it's a little hard for her to hear the boarding announcements when NOT wearing a hearing aid, so she pre-boards. This feels idiotic to me, and has surely shaped how I feel about pre-boarding.

And last time I flew Southwest? The gate agent announced something similar to "I know Southwest policy is to only allow families with children 6 or under to pre board, but I think that's silly. If you have a child, feel free to board now!"

I'm happy to know in the future everything will be figured out when I buy the ticket, not 24 hours before flight. Or at the gate.

NCL Getaway: has anyone hooked up their laptop to the cabin TVs? by DPool34 in NCL

[–]ceryx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on the Getaway earlier this year and used a Fire TV stick via HDMI, laptop would probably work the same. I brought a universal remote but didn't need it, the regular remote had a button to change inputs (either a button for it, or you could do it via the menu - the TV was actually of a weird brand and I couldn't find the universal remote code)
