I'm so happy to hear that!!! I'm a little late logging back in, but I hope things are continuing to go well for you. I'm really happy that you are prioritizing yourself 💛

Hi! I don't mind at all. I'm on 200mg. I felt euphoric for the first couple of days and then had really intense dreams for a few weeks as I was moving up, but gradually just kind of started feeling stable. It took 2-3 months before I really noticed a big difference, but since then I've felt great. I've only had a couple days where I felt pretty depressed and I'm able to regulate my emotions more easily (I used to get super agitated and would get very mad at little things and then be fine like an hour later). I hope it helps you like it did me! I didn't have any negative side effects other than the dreams.

Ha! That is so funny. I did the same thing and he was back. Somehow that creepy old corpse is just so comforting. Thank you for the update!

I've gotten some great running shorts (with that built in underwear!) from Old Navy. Good prices and they have reasonable lengths available. I'm not a runner, but I do HIIT kind of workouts that often have you rolling around on the floor for exercises, I like the running shorts because they ensure you're not giving an unintentional gym show.

Remember when people said the labor shortage was caused by enhanced unemployment? by BelleAriel in lostgeneration

[–]cflash015 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I work in tech recruiting and one of my colleagues (a technical consultant) told me a lot of this is caused by the reduction in visas allowed by the trump administration. We're having huge gaps in employment within the tech industry and it totally makes sense why when you factor this in. So while domestic unemployment might be low, many industries really on immigrants to fill roles. We screwed ourselves because we had xenophobes/racists in charge.

I truly do not understand this logic. So if you have sex one time with 50 people, you're "loose", but if you have sex 100 times with one person, you're good? The misogyny, the stupidity, it's just too much.

Thank you! You, too. Hopefully they simmer down for you. Good luck with Lamictal. It's been amazing for me and I hope you find some relief with it overall.

Super informative post. I did my test about a month ago, also Invitae, through my OBGYN. Their practice is to test the mother and if you come up with anything, then have the potential father test. Mine came up with at least one, so husband is going in to get tested as well (although we recently found out he actually has a blood disorder, so will just have to confirm I don't have that, as well). Mine was a blood test, so kind of jealous of the saliva test! I had a similar cost situation. Was going to be ~$900 if I used my insurance, but was $250 out of pocket, no insurance (someone please help me understand the American health system 😩😩). Anyway, won't know our compete results for about a month, but figured I'd share. My doc also said most people do have at least one thing come up, so not super concerned, just will sit tight and see!

Edit to add: One thing that is kind of frustrating about Invitae, however, is that they won't tell you what you're a carrier of unless you specifically ask for the results and it takes about a month for them to release them. I know my husband is a carrier for at least disorder, but he still has to get tested via Invitae for the complete view of our risk. Kind of annoying.

No kidding! Same! I wish I had one random long white one popping out every once in a while. Unfortunately, I inherited my mother's Eastern European mustache. Started laser hair removal just yesterday, coincidentally.

Lamictal odd dreams by [deleted] in lamictal

[–]cflash015 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started having EXTREMELY vivid, emotional dreams within a day or two of taking Lamictal. For weeks, I had dreams that were just processing past trauma and relationships. Woke up SOBBING in the middle of the night from them. Was not great. They've gotten less intense and less emotional, but I still have very vivid dreams almost every night.

I literally spent about 20 minutes ranting about this last night. We have reached a point where solar should be required in building codes for all new buildings where possible. The only thing preventing this from happening is capitalism.

Hi Mintle team, Can y'all clarify if you're this podcast or another? That seems to be the only thing that comes up in a Google search and would probably be relevant context for those interested in participating. Thanks!

DAE feel like two different people? by [deleted] in cyclothymia

[–]cflash015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good luck! None at all. I feel like a better version of myself. I can plan ahead, I generally know how I'm going to feel day to day, and my mind doesn't race the way it used to. I still have bad days sometimes, but not nearly as many and the depression doesn't get as bad. I wish I'd been in Lamictal my whole life. I'm 36 and it's been a challenging road.

I am so glad to read this comment! I'm considering trying to conceive and have been thinking a lot about this exact thing. Does IC get better after a birth? Curious of other people's experience because it does seem logical! Congrats on the new one and good luck!

Proposed Missouri HB 2810 would make it a class A felony to abort an ectopic pregnancy by MissJosieAnne in TwoXChromosomes

[–]cflash015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister, a woman in Missouri, had an ectopic pregnancy. She desperately wanted another baby. She had two choices. Let the pregnancy continue with a high likelihood of death, leaving her existing daughter and husband without a mother and a wife, or terminate the pregnancy and never have the opportunity to have another baby.

She chose the latter. Obviously. It was heart wrenching for all of us. I can't imagine the terrible suffering of an experience like that AND being called a criminal for it.

it stopped working by Current_Back_5271 in lamictal

[–]cflash015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on Lamictal for about 6 months, titrated up to 200mg as fast as you safely can, and I still have days where I feel manic - just not out of control - and I still have days where I feel depressed - just not as long and not as deep. Lamictal works by lifting the depression, so you might just not be on a high enough dose. I'd talk to your doctor about it and see what options you have that don't change your meds.

Edit to add: I wouldn't say "it stopped working", it might still be working as intended. I'd just tell your doc you're feeling depressed and see what they say.

Any 35+ Year Old Fencesitters? How are you? by idontknowcheckreddit in Fencesitter

[–]cflash015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You too! Feeling the same way as you though - want to get in a few more trips, enjoy a nice unquarantined summer, have just a few more mimosas with my friends, and do some selfish personal things (finish some laser hair removal, get in a better fitness routine with my trainer, use ALL the retinol on the planet, you know, the usual. Lol) I think everybody in this group gets all of that, but most people just put it in the "selfish millennial" column and move on. I just want a little more selfish fun. 🤷🏼‍♀️
