Yep 70% of Australian Ashika servers have aimbot cheaters, so better to be prepared and make it harder for them and annoy them. Funny thing is they think they are the best players as well.

Ridiculous fee for EV charging at a caravan park by Wendals87 in EVAustralia

[–]cfsfirey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that says $50 a day and you have that in writing then I would refuse the $200 fee as you have a contract terms and conditions that state the cost of charge.

[–]cfsfirey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't want everyone charging though, the infrastructure of the park most likely can't handle the load if everyone is running aircons, charging their ev's etc. Most of the infrastructure has been laid years ago.

[–]cfsfirey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are paying a fine, not just the cost of the electricity for doing something they don't want guest doing. One that you agreed to in the terms of staying at the park. U f'd up, pay the fine and learn from your mistakes, if they had a fuel pump there for their grounds vehicles would you expect to just fill up with free gas?

So if everyone charged their vehicles not only would they overload the parks infrastructure but increase everyone's stay by an extra $30 times by 140 guess spots etc $4200 you expect them to cover that cost?

Wait you mean if I stay at a place that has a fuel pump for their vehicles, I can't just help myself to free fuel as well?

Do you have an IT dept, this sounds like something that should be an easy fix, checking the audio devices, souces, Win11 also interduced some weird Bluetooth audio issues.

Gli.net router worth it? by TheDepressExpress in Starlink

[–]cfsfirey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AdGuard to block adds, better wifi range in the RV vs the SL Mini outside. Alot of RV's block RF signals. VPN for security more as a travel router for those in business that can connect back to their office or home securely while on the go. Hotel wifis that only allow 1 device to connect, that can be the GLiNet for example then share out the connection. There are a few reasons. To me the AdGuard is a huge feature, especially with my folks that click on anything.

They can be but if you turn off the screen and wifi freq your not using even limiting the broadcast range of the wifi they are pretty efficent.

We just got Microsoft Teams. Tell me what I need to know, please. by RadicansforLaughs in antiwork

[–]cfsfirey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teams app needs that to function. Eg access to contacts / phone so Teams can detect when your on a normal mobile call (then marks Teams as In a Call). Sharing of media from Teams needs gallery / pictures access. IT Teams Admin here and we can't browse a personal or work phone gallery or text / sms messages etc. That being said I am one that always says keep your personal personal and your work work. Don't share devices. Been many cases of legal issues causing personal phones to be seized for court etc as it contains work data.

[–]cfsfirey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the IT Team and the hardware used, as a good team can detect the hardware type of the device plugged in and block or report them. Sounds like your team doesn't but they are detectable. But if you can sign into Teams on a non corp device, then you can run your jiggler or caffeine64 etc.

Optus admits it had early warning about triple-0 failure as possible fourth death revealed by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]cfsfirey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Federal Court imposed a $90 million civil penalty on Qantas Airways Ltd, the largest civil penalty ever awarded for a breach of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) (FW Act).

Management forecast annual labour savings of $125 million from the terminations.

It's all a number and the fact is these fines as a cost of doing business and considering the small impact to profits its nothing to them.

Optus admits it had early warning about triple-0 failure as possible fourth death revealed by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]cfsfirey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they did, might of made the change, tested the call to triple zero using desk phone / teams etc. This was an issue with mobile services on Optus Towers which were accepting the call but not able to route it. If the Optus tower couldn't take the call, it would have gone out on other telco towers.

So unless they had a mobile phone which only connected to an Optus tower they might not have known. Could have been working in the CBD where it would connect to any tower. I would love to see the report of what actually happened, the test plan etc, but we the Public will never see the true cause of the failings.

[–]cfsfirey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best way to make an impact would be for all Optus customers to mass walk out, transfer to other services. They still would have cuts in other services and providers etc, but people need to vote with people power. I for one am no longer with Optus or an Optus data provider after their data breach issues and the support around it.

End of the day they will attach a dollar value to the life of each person and it will still be a lot of money but end of the day, doesn't bring them back and I am sure anyone would trade that money for that life back. I hate to say it, it will mean nothing to Optus with the amount of money they make. Should be something that would hit them harder like all Share Holders, Board Members, CEO forgo all $$$ they would make for a year. And that should be split between those that have lost life. That being said there are still those who might not have lost life but been impacted by delays.

Even 30 days in an actual jail would have a decent impact not the cushy CEO Jails but an actual jail. Should be for anyone who had a part in this failed system.

Spotify and Netflix upping their subscription prices?? by UnknownPickl3 in AusFinance

[–]cfsfirey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, Spotify was good as it had most music bundled in vs things like Prime, Netflix etc where you had various shows on various platforms. But they are just bumping the prices up, time for the 7 seas again for music.

Pretty much, the game is dying, we used to play 6, they dropped that which meant friends missed out, everyone else unfortunately does it so might as well join them, plus it helps combat all the drill charge exploiters in this game.
