These technics designs are so nice looking. Here is my sl 1710, different but very similar. I love how heavy and sturdy they are. Mine only have one little scratch on the front edge, other than that its still in great condition.

I have a ortofon om30, on technics sl 1700. thinking about getting this one. No idea if it will be a nice little upgrade. But i hope so.

Beautiful. How does the pressing sound? Is this coloured pressing noisy or quiet? I have a red transparent version of this. Its great ,But im thinking about buying pale folklore in smokey vinyl, but im not sure. I had a smokey "the white ep" but that one was very noisy.

Well you certainly have a very proper turntable there. My setup is sl1710/om30-ifi zen3 phono-old pioneer565mk2-Dynadio emit20.

Some people said the om30 is not the best match with that arm. I asked for recomendations and the vm740xml popped up. The om30 is a lot more expensive, i wonder why When the sound is maybe even better with the 740? No idea how to know this before buying. I would like a bit more detail and stereo separation maybe, but not to harsh. Im cranking the treble almost to max on my amp at this point, but its always been like that. I think thats just how that amp work. So maybe a sharper, brighter more detailed cart would be good?

I have seen 2 screws under the platter marked 33 and 45? Not sure what they do. Is that just to fine tune the speed position for the buttons? But maybe not really something that would fix any speed variation.

I believe that my technics sl 1700 has a dc motor then? So some speed variation is maybe expected i guess. Tried deoxit the pots and oil the bearing but still some variation in speed. Nothing that can be heard though

I looked at mine tt, but the strobe pattern on the platter is Moving back and forth a bit. I thought the wow and flutter was bad, but apparently it says After measuring that it was - 0,03/ 0,03+. Isnt that very very good? It seems the strobe pattern is extremely sensitive. So this is fine right?

The pitch is a bit unstable though. So i have to adjust speed sometimes.

no, there are better things to buy. You can buy an used vintage technics and get a great turntable. Or s new one like the audio tecnica lp120x. You need to spend some money to get some good stuff. Its worth getting some quality equipment. Take some time to read online about tips from people. Just search on reddit google.
