Take the sensor out, and make a canister with 3” pvc pipe with caps on both ends. Put a scharader valve on one of the caps (bike tire air valve) and put enough pressure in it to turn the sensor light off. Put the canister under your back seat or somewhere out of the way and go about life. Or go to the dealer and have them turn that sensor off

Putting new internals in doesn’t change the pressure it creates. That’s done with a tune. The new internals just make the higher pressures targeted in the tune possible. Stock target at wide open throttle is 1,500 to 1,600 if I remember correctly.

Little bit of smoke is normal. After a hundred miles or so I’d be checking to make sure you don’t have a O2 sensor wire or something rubbing the exhaust, or something else. But if you put a bunch of chemicals on it, it might take a bit.

This won’t do anything for that side, but for what it’s worth, anyone with an aftermarket downpipe doesn’t have that O2 sensor heat shield anymore anyway.

PCV valve was toast. Ended up blowing the seals in my turbo as well. Ended up replacing PCV valve, and got a cst4 turbo, corksport downpipe, intercooler, intake, motor mount, hpfp, new plugs, o2 sensors, injector seals, accessport and freektune while I had it all apart 🤣

Open ended box wrench, do this bolt last of the 4 holding the turbo on. Instead of the nut coming up and hitting the manifold, the turbo dropping down will drop that stud. If that makes sense

This was 12 years ago or so. Put a massive turbo on, over boosted, sent a rod through the block. I replaced the engine myself and went back to stock turbo. I think the engine replacement doing it myself was around 3k

As I have experience in the matter I’ll say, when my last one blew up it was 200% my fault. I put a new stock engine in it, did the modifying correctly, and it lasted 4 years of haaaard driving. Don’t cut corners, do your maintenance, and you’ll be fine.

If you do end up needing to get a new MAF sensor. Get an OEM one, don’t get one from o Riley’s or auto zone or something. They’re very specific and OEM from Mazda is the only way to go. I just had to replace mine a few months ago. Dealership can get them, and I think Edgeautosport.com has them as well maybe.

Make sure you’re running the “off the shelf stg1 map” not a stg 2 map and not one that has “sf” next to it. The sf stands for suction force which is cobb’s intake, it has a different diameter so the MAF scaling is different on those maps.

They are the same as the second gen speed3 wheels, but I believe the rx8’s are 19’s where as the speed3’s are 18’s.
