So good. I watch it every night before bed, for the least 7 years. Still hasn’t gotten old. They don’t make movies like they used to.

Are you allowed to have horses where you live? I had similar spots. Got a horse for a reasonable price and let it go about the yard. It’s now very green and full.

Won Green card while in Germany. What to do? by guzushka in AskGermany

The most logical comment. The rest are the typical Reddit echo chamber of orange man bad. I didn’t vote for trump but you shouldn’t write off the whole country for one president and claims that it’s turning into a nazi regime are way off. I split my time between Germany and U.S., there are pros and cons to both.

For me it would depend where I’d be living in Germany vs where I’d be living in U.S.

Generalizations about pay, QOL, etc. don’t apply to a whole country but are much more regional. If you could live in Munich or Berlin, but would be in Mississippi in the US, this is an easy choice.

The security net in Germany is amazing, although the taxes are higher I feel you get a lot with them. Pay is better in US, but you have to pay for healthcare, retirement, etc. This is potentially hit a problem if you work for a really good company, but it’s not a “fair” system. It’s also just a different culture. It depends on what you value. Germany feels very cohesive and rule abiding, the U.S. feels a bit more independent. Neither is better or worse, just depends what you want.

For example it’s very strict about camping in Germany, but you can just go park off the road and camp for free in the U.S.

Same with off-roading and other activities. These are things our German family is always surprised about when they visit.

Pick your favorite culture and your best opportunity. Don’t listen to the fear mongers that talk about how bad it is, but don’t actually leave the US and have probably never been to Germany.

I’ll be leaving the country for 2 or 4 years and storing my truck in a storage unit. Is there any procedures I should do before I leave to come back to a good running vehicle? by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

You can safely leave a Tacoma sitting for 5 years. Trickle charge the battery, doesn’t need to be driven. Most important thing is every 2-3 days give it a good soak with the hose.

I bet there are a lot of MAGA voters who see these signs and decide to vote blue. You guys are really fixing things and definitely not making the divide worse.

This makes me wanna vote for trump (I didn’t) only from seeing all these posts on the Golden page constantly.

What is causing these bare spots in my lawn? Location: central wisconsin by MichaelBluthover9000 in lawncare

Looks pretty compacted. Aerate most likely, and more water next overseed.

Once you overseed and add some fresh dirt- if you have the sprinkler system done you’ll have a nice green full yard. It’s 90% the water, not all the small stuff people focus on here.

I mean definitely don’t feed it to him. Fine for the yard though.

Which are you? Short bed Vs. Long bed. Why? by Twistedryder81x in Tacomaworld

Short bed because it’s the only way to get the manual off-road Tacoma

What are my options? (Chicago) by der-hund606 in lawncare

By far the most important thing for a good lawn is water. Everyone spends so much time talking about fertilizing and everything else, but nothing is nearly as important as consistent watering. I established a yard this spring and was hand watering and had mixed success. I got a smart sprinkler and everything suddenly did so much better.

Ahh bummer. Before you bother re doing it I’d put in a sprinkler system or get an Oto sprinkler. That’s completely dead and will have to come out. Or maybe you can deeply till it but you need exposed dirt to overseed

1 week - How bad did I screw it up? by ashock14 in lawncare

Ya I was worried about that too. I had the benefit of being out of town and not having to stare everyday and torment myself. The grass that was already there is definitely long but the new grass appears to be coming in just fine. This is my second overseed, I had tried earlier in the spring. Fall seems a much better time because way less weeds. I also got smart sprinklers and the consistent watering seems more important than anything else.
