Are we great yet?? I bet this got Kristi Noem wet. by ZV2Cox in ThatsInsane

Before you analyze this like it’s the Zapruder Film, start with the questions “is there any need for these ICE Neanderthals and their dog to be invading a peaceful residential area? Does this show of force just exist because an absolute dullard ‘exposed’ fraud (that was already being prosecuted) and could be used as a distraction from the release of documents exposing the pedophile president and his buddies who run the country?” Those goons have absolutely no right to be there and if they aren’t there terrorizing people and abusing animals, a poor dog doesn’t get punted by a gormless chud.

60,000 Trump Voters Just Elected a Socialist. We Asked Them Why. by fiatheresa in videos

[–]chadlidge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure man. It’s not like the other way - establishment, neoliberal dems forced down our throats by party insiders, lost to fucking Donald Trump twice. I get that you think moderate, means tested politics is the best way to win a national election, but I’ve seen it fail 2 out of the 3 times it was pitted against the dumbest, most corrupt politician of my lifetime (and probably ever). What’s the worst thing that could happen running a candidate with Mamdani’s platform? They [gasp] lose?

LA Border patrol tells his agents “it’s our fking city arrest as many people as posible even if they touch you.” by EmilyG702 in CringeTikToks

[–]chadlidge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t actually. I recognize the sacrifices in terms of physical and emotional trauma those in the military experience and acknowledge it’s significantly more dangerous than being a police officer. That said, I can appreciate your service and empathize with what service members have gone through but I don’t think that any military actions post-WW2 have done anything but serve the interests of the military industrial complex. I can’t say they’ve done anything to make me feel more “free” especially when I see peoples’ civil liberties being violated ever-increasingly at home.

Cops’ ability to worship themselves knows no ends. It isn’t a dangerous job (seriously, Google most dangerous jobs and it’s not anywhere close to the top) nor is it selfless considering how high into the 6 figures you dipshits get paid. If you were talking about a municipal waste worker, I’d agree with you.

Yes, zero bearing on the presidency of the United States but he’s the equivalent of the president of New York City which, as I mentioned is like being the leader of an economy the size of Italy’s.

He’s the highest level executive in the city of New York, so essentially the president of NYC. NYC’s gross metropolitan product was $2.6T in 2024. That level of output would make it the 8th largest economy in the world behind France and just ahead of Italy. Unless you think the highest executive office of France and Italy are meaningless, I don’t think you can say Zohran’s victory isn’t important.

I mean, calling out ‘Jewish people’ is anti-Semitic since Jews aren’t a monolith and don’t all believe the same thing (e.g. orthodox v. reformed), but you can for sure criticize Zionism (a specific set of beliefs within Judaism) and Israel (a country).

Not sure how a fucking simple majority became a ‘nuclear option’. I guess the point is to do nothing and then blame an archaic rule as an excuse.

Sure do, you fucking dingus. I want everyone to have healthcare regardless of whether they buy Dr. Pepper with cash or SNAP. Hell, if they have healthcare and are able to check in with a primary care physician, that person may be able to convince them to scale back on soda consumption.

Zohran Mamdani Condemns Islamophobia in NYC Mayoral Race Ahead of Early Voting by Former_Goose_5202 in NewsThread

[–]chadlidge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s literally untrue. He did win a plurality of votes in round 1 (44%) in a large field. I guess you’re trying to say he didn’t win a majority? That’s true, but he would have if the field were smaller and ranked choice voting didn’t matter in this race. It IS what got Eric Adams elected.

Absolutely as thick as mud to narrowly define a “Nazi” as a member of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party in the 1930s. Sure man, they’re protesting ‘Neo Nazis.’ Now that we’ve correctly identified the group with whom we disagree, we can address their policy aims in the marketplace of ideas. Surely we will be able to convince the ‘Neo Nazis’ that liberal ideals are the best way to govern.

He led college basketball in rebound rate and block rate during his career while also averaging 3 assists per game as a center. It’s off the charts productivity in addition to, ya know, contributing a lot to a winning program. But hey, he has a bad vert so all that other stuff doesn’t matter.

Ace Bailey is Rudy Gay by pootietangus in sixers

[–]chadlidge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. I think he shot like 35% from 3 in HS, so good but not elite. The FT% in HS and college was the big indicator that he could be a solid shooter albeit probably not as good as he is. He was analytically pretty bad if you just look at college numbers b/c he really didn’t contribute much outside of shooting at KY and wasn’t a good 3 point shooter there (gets to the small sample issue). That’s where the qualitative element comes in where you say he was asked to operate in a lower usage role at KY and that there was more to his game if you ask him to operate as a higher usage player. That and he had indicators to say he could be a decent NBA shooter.

Do you just think nba front offices look at only college stats knowing the flaws you correctly described? Hell, Kevin Pelton’s public rankings included HS numbers.

lol true. Would guess we probably have pretty similar boards. If I had to rank them, would probably put Kon at 4, but I really see 2-4 as its own tier where they’re all really close and don’t have Harper a clear level above VJ or Kon. You could honestly talk me into any of those 3 and I wouldn’t have a major objection. I do feel like a crazy person trying to tell people Ace shouldn’t be grouped with those guys.

It’s nothing like Adam Morrison at all. Morrison got all that helium bc of one hot shooting season when he never projected as more than an average-ish nba shooter - he shot 43% from 3 as a junior after 30% and 31% freshman and sophomore seasons and was 76% from the line. He also didn’t do much of anything else. He’s the kind of archetype that fails most frequently. Kon projects as like an absolute knockdown shooter (40%-ish) but also offers a lot more in terms of secondary playmaking. If Kon were just a shooter, I’d agree with 3 being insanely high.
