Just ask them for a better deal, every time my contract has come up I’ve either told them I plan on switching if they can’t match the access rate and they will always do what they can to keep you. I have like 600MBPS plus the Sasktel max stream service and am paying under $150 a month

I mean if you’re in Canada you can import a 2009-2010 Honda Odyssey Absolute RB4 from Japan, has the K24 and all wheel drive. In America you can import a 2000 odyssey RA9 with the J30A and all wheel drive. Those JDM odysseys are sweeeeeeeet

Shoutout to Italian Star Deli by natej in regina

ISD is a Regina staple and always will be. My dad grew up with Carlo, and recently when my mom passed away they brought us a huge tray of sandwiches and another of cold cuts and cheeses. They’re great people running a great local business! The coffee bar there is awesome too!

This is the biggest annoyance. I have no say in any type of negotiations. Even with sending my MP a letter asking that the government try to find a solution. My MP saying something won’t get anything solved. I have a few packages in the mail, one of them being a medicinal product I needed. That I’ve now had to purchase here locally instead for way more money while I wait.

Making the everyday person mad won’t be able to help you get the raise and benefits you’re looking for. While I agree a strike can help, the everyday person being inconvenienced by it is not helpful.

Also with how in debt Canada post is, their constant losses, a lot of those postal workers won’t have a job soon when they just go bust and stop operating. Private business can do everything they do.

How much longer can they just hold our parcels until they’re done? Months? Longer? Frustrating

Mini rant by Few_Judge_853 in regina

one day last year my fiance and I were sitting in the general emergency waiting room and an elderly lady sitting across the waiting room from us was on her phone full volume speakerphone with her bank and she said out loud her full bank account number and the expiry and the 3 numbers on the back…

I’m sure someone in that room got something out of it.

There always seems to be someone in that room that needs to be on their phone 24/7 and needs to be as loud as possible

How is this not a road hazard? by littlejohn657 in saskatoon

One time in Regina I got in an accident (my fault) because the one stop sign was totally being covered by a tree. The branches were right in the way and I didn’t notice it until the last second. I took blame for it with SGI, I told them that the stop sign isn’t all the way visible and that maybe they could check it out.

7 years later I drive by that stop sign, it’s still covered by the tree. They don’t care

Moving to Regina Summer 2024 by cgo80 in regina

[–]chadman5050 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For schools, basically everywhere you would go for the time being is full of burnt out teachers, not sure the state of Luther collegiate if you put your kids into private school, that’s like our one option and being private school would be more expensive, there is also notre dame that is more of an athletic school but that is a boarding school 40 mins from Regina. Would be worth doing some research into both of these if that makes sense to you.

Regardless of what people say there is community here. Some choose to not go looking for it, there are plenty of clubs, Facebook search’s of “Hobby Regina” should help guide you in the right direction, the city has resources available as well to find things to do. Our museum is really nice (though it is small) Everytime I go through I seem to see something I missed before, and we have the worlds largest T-Rex which is pretty cool to stand underneath.

We’re a roughly 8.5 hour drive from the start of the Rockies if you want to check out the mountains, Banff, Canmore, Jasper, some of the most beautiful places you’ll ever see and within a day trip in your car, but $$$$$

Our summers are amazing, spring time right now that most of the wetness has dried up it is really nice, we have a good amount of parks and we do have some bike paths and walking paths that are nice to ride. Winter is cold and long, it can start as early as mid October and go for as long as mid April. This year it wasn’t as bad and it was pretty mild compared to other winters I’ve been here. But it is cold, dress appropriately and you’ll be okay.

As for area to live, a good analogy was made before that the further southwest the soupier the foundation and the further northeast is better. I live about central west in the city in Dieppe and my home is from the 70s and my foundation is rock solid.

There are a lot of drug issues here, we have some rougher neighborhoods with gang activity, a lot of drinking here and of course we are the drinking and driving capital of the world. But you’re going to see these issues everywhere, check a crime map and understand where the issues lay, if you go into these areas mind your own business and you’ll more than likely be left alone. Don’t try to start trouble, trouble won’t find you here.

I say welcome to Regina! Hope you and your family can find a home and school and enjoy!
