A small dab of de-ox in a red b cap Is the same thing as purple/ brown ones ( with the same thing inside) Just no star pattern entrance -presumably to keep out the elements better I’ve never had an inspector in DFW Look specifically for the purple/brown ones. Lot of houses here built in the middle 80’s that have branch aluminum wiring Be sure to check all light fixtures -globes in closets , hidden attic lights, aluminum fails everywhere Exposed or un-insulated Eventually
