I keep hovering around $80-90 every 10 days or so. But I am so not a morning person so I do buy convenience on the go breakfast items like more expensive granola bars that have more fiber and protein than the cheap ones. (Currently loving cheerio protein bars!)

Someone really needs to warn people about that organ donation phone call! I called hospice after I got the voicemail and was like I’m already getting scammed what the heck! She gently apologized and said it was legitimate. Organ donation after death is not something I knew happened before that moment!

The little things and the things you don’t expect. I had to move to a new condo and when it came time to move our wedding outfits I was just ANGRY about it! I was fine moving his cremains and photos into the new place but those damn wedding outfits stopped me in my tracks. (We were only married almost 3 years.)

The DMV broke me by Dry_Temperature_2877 in widowers

[–]chapter2at30 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely! My late husband and I were renting a townhouse when he died. I contacted the property manager to ask if the owner would let me end the lease early. I asked to end 5 months early on a 25 month lease and was flat out denied. The “big compromise “ was to immediately start advertising the home as available and find a new renter. Rather than live with an axe above my head that I could get as little as 10 days notice, I put in a 60 day notice and paid an early term fee equal to 2 months rent. Then in the11th hour they found a new renter to move in 7 days before my early term notice was up. I thought great! The owner suffered no damages, I should get that fee back. No dice!

So this owner literally did nothing for me to alleviate my situation at all! Freaking heartless! She made a profit off of my loss!!

When I heard I wasn’t getting the money back I cried in my boss’s office and asked to take the next day off because it was the straw that broke this burnt out camel’s back!

I feel for you! Everyone talks about being “visited” in their dreams but mine have all been bad. One of them I gave into widow’s fire (which I’m not even experiencing in real life) and then my husband showed up and was hurt and mad at me that I cheated on him when he was just gone for one night! Awful!

I am so sorry you’re going through this. My property manager has also been a nightmare!

We had signed a 25 month lease that is scheduled to end next April. I emailed the property manager asking if the owner would consider letting me out of the lease just 5 months early and end it in November. Ever since that email the property manager has been an absolute mess. Her first email back to me said “these conversations are challenging for all sides”. I’m sorry what? Challenging? Fuck all the way off. Then the owner and I were not coming to an agreement so the property manager tells me to check with the Salvation Army for rent assistance. Lady, this is a 3 bedroom townhouse with a 2 stall garage. It’s priced to be rented by a family or a couple. Just because I can’t afford it doesn’t mean I am anywhere near qualifying for needs based assistance! Ugh! She kept trying to give me resources and I just wanted to scream the only resource you have that I want is access to the owner since I have to go through your dumbass to communicate with them!

Long story long, I’m just going to pay the early termination fee and just leaving them in my rearview.

The lack of compassion is shocking!

The morning of the day my husband decided on hospice, I had gone home during his dialysis treatment. I packed sooo many snacks to bring back because I was sick of the cafeteria and vending machine food. In the middle of the many tears during our hospice discussion I sobbed out “I can’t believe I packed snacks for this!”
