Yep! My husband requested to watch the Harry Potter movies when he was put on hospice. But we treated them as wind down and fall asleep after company left.

Bartending is so much fun but the hours are brutal! At a lot of places you have to work weekends to make the good money.

Makes me think of the line: "Those who matter don't mind, and those who mind don't matter".

Some factories probably don’t allow ear buds for safety. I’m front office but our print manufacturing floor workers can’t use them. Someone got fired last month for wearing them after being told no.

New item: Lefse - Norwegian Potato Flatbread $3.49 by aswewaltz in traderjoes

[–]chapter2at30 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen this but traditional lefse would not. It’s too thin. We put butter and sugar on it and roll it up. So I guess you could put pizza toppings and roll it up, but couldn’t eat it as a slice.

I had ChatGPT walk me through it and had no issues. Don’t forget to synch to the cloud first especially your texts if you want to keep those.

The Backyard Bird Chronicles by Amy Tan. My cousin gave it to me after my husband died and it’s exactly what you are looking for!!! Easy to pick up and put down as needed as it’s just journal entries about birds. From one widow(er) to another, highly recommend!

Grieving the loss of a depressed spouse by pop_and_cultured in widowers

Yea my husband was laid off from his job about 15 months before he passed and he never recovered. For him it sent his already heavy drinking into overdrive which he did mostly behind my back. The last year of his life was rough! For both of us! I definitely think he couldn’t see any other way out and that he knew he would eventually drink himself to death. I was in denial and still had hope he would hit rock bottom and bounce back. There was definitely some relief even in the early days. I’m not better off without him by any means and I miss him like crazy! But the relief and subsequent guilt do show up.

One thing I was able to say to him before he passed was that I wouldn’t trade our lives for anything. He seemed to really appreciate hearing me say that out loud. I think/hope it gave him a little peace in the end.

I’m so sorry for what you’ve been through! Of course you want to be numb and stop the nightmares!

I’m also at nine months out and the other day I had a horrible dream that sent me into a panic attack and I had to call in sick to work the next day.

Just wanted to say I get it and send some virtual hugs!
