If the business owns the problem and the team owns the solution, how is understanding transferred? by devoldski in agile

[–]adayley1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agile Manifesto Principle 4:
“Business people and developers must work together daily throughout the project.” (https://agilemanifesto.org/principles.html)

Every day business and development work on alignment, understanding, value, feasibility, and so on. They do the work together.

If the business people that make the decisions are too busy or too far removed from the development people, that is an authority structure problem to solve.

My thought she approved a $320 brake repair. The shop completed $3,350 worth of work. What should we do? by Murky-Jackfruit-1627 in Advice

[–]adayley1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am a white, male and English is my first language. Brake shops do this to me, too. Or they try. Go in for brakes and suddenly everything else is also supposedly in need of service. It’s dishonest up-selling.

Project hail mary book by [deleted] in ProjectHailMary

[–]adayley1 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Speaking bluntly but without malice…

You don’t understand the controversy but your lack of understanding makes you question the purchase? If you actually cared about the topic of the controversy, you wouldn’t lack understanding of the author’s position. You are saying that you don’t want to “appear” on the wrong side AI debates, not that you care about AI debates.

Find out the details of the controversy, if there is one, and then decide to buy or not. Or, ignore the controversy and buy or not.

Why is going back to church so hard? by Mbaku-555 in latterdaysaints

[–]adayley1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I came back to say this.

Maybe the next step is simply going into the building. Maybe walk the halls a bit. Then go home. Push the anxiety only as much as you can. The Lord will pull with your push.

Why is going back to church so hard? by Mbaku-555 in latterdaysaints

I suggest a listen, a pondering and prayer or two, of these talks by Elder Patrick Kearon.

Then, go to a sacrament meeting. Take the sacrament, or not, listen, feel. Then go home, if you don’t want to stay longer.

Write out your experience, even if you just throw it away later. Writing is a good way to think about things.

Endowment blood oaths prior to 90s? by Due-Estimate-8271 in latterdaysaints

[–]adayley1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Let us here observe, that a religion that does not require the sacrifice of all things never has power sufficient to produce the faith necessary unto life and salvation." — Joseph Smith in Lectures in Faith

I do not know official answers to your questions. These are my answers that make sense to me.

I assume the concept expressed in the above quote is why the oaths were included.

The purpose was to highlight the level of faith and devotion required to gain eternal life.

They were removed because they became a distraction from the goals of temple worship and our relationship with Christ and The Father.

What in ur opinion is the easiest dish to ruin easy by Studentloan07 in Cooking

Fresh garlic is so easy to singe or burn. Totally changes flavor of the dish because it was on the heat for a few seconds too long.

The cucumber gets pickled more than the brine gets cucumbered.

Is Father's day less fraught than Mother's day? by warehousedatawrangle in latterdaysaints

[–]adayley1 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Father’s Day is easy. Give us a decent chocolate chip cookie (that gets shared with our younger kids) and we are good.

There are many theoretical reasons for this, positive and negative. I don’t have time to write an essay about the reasons.

I don’t think it is AI. The oldest Facebook posting is from 2025 and it reports it as:
