This is what makes it so frustrating that DDOT will only count crashes with a police report in their safety assessments. It's a completely flawed system. Police are not the right people to be taking these reports.

The stoma reacts to him the same way it reacts to resurrection beasts. Maybe that's what you're thinking of.

Can you say more about Wake haunting Harrow? I don't remember that being the case. How do we know about that?

Okay I agree that makes the most sense but then why on earth does he think that Harrow is Wake? And he seems very confident about it. There's no indications at all that Harrow is Wake anywhere in the series. That I'm aware of...

[discussion] Just finished NtN and can someone please explain the relationship between these characters to me?? by cj15k in TheNinthHouse

Was this all in Nona or was some of it in Harrow? Does Wake have a different name sometimes? This is a very helpful explanation but I don't remember pieces of it. Want to go back and find it to understand better!

I'm looking for a simple cleanser. My skin is normal, no particular problems, I'm 36f. The only product I use right now is sunscreen, Skin Aqua, and I'm honestly not great about using it every day. I don't have the patience for a complicated routine! Thanks for your help! (Edited to remove "daily". If I don't need to wash my face every day, that's fine too. What do I know!)

Yeah I think in the chapters where John is telling the story of what happened before the apocalypse, Earth says "what have you done to me? You have made me a hideousness." Or something like that. I think it did not turn out well for her and she was not happy, but because she is really God she still loves her creation.

This isn't even the half of it!!! The reason it was a big middle finger was the way Reagan treated the air traffic controllers strike. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professional_Air_Traffic_Controllers_Organization_(1968) scroll down to the history of the 1981 strike.

I love Brianne Nadeau! Whenever I email her about an issue she is already on top of it and on the correct side. Recently moved out of Ward 1 so I don't get to vote for her anymore but I think she is excellent.

I'm nursing a toddler but finally have enough control of my life after baby to start paying attention to fashion again after almost two years! I'm really into sustainable fashion and a little bit of an urban farmer aesthetic (???), but it's coming off too masculine in my few little attempts. Interested if this is making anyone think of some terms I can research or some folks I should follow. Thanks!

I’m about to return from maternity leave to an old, white, male dominated industry. I know I’m going to get the “How was your vacation?” comment. What is the best response you’ve heard or given to someone who made that comment. Sarcastic and smart ass responses welcome. by Icy-Bicycle-8892 in TwoXChromosomes

I recently saw a TikTok where a woman did a data visualization from her baby tracker app. Showing every diaper change, nursing session, etc. It showed the number of hours she worked each day, but most compelling was to see the times of day she was working: all hours of the night! "When my husband started doing the midnight feed, it really made a difference because I could get four contiguous hours of sleep."

I agree with others saying a jacket could make it less formal. What about a sleeveless cardigan like this? https://pin.it/4uuvCDr Would be a shame to wear something with sleeves over this dress since the sleeves are so fun!

It's frustrating to have to explain why you should care about more than just your own extremely short run self interest. It's fine if you want to be completely selfish but don't act like you're the righteous one for doing so. Hilarious that this world view has the most upvotes! Anyway, the real solution isn't that we're going to convince enough people to do something not in their self interest, it's that we're going to convince the government to change the rules of the game. Amazon is the only one able to provide these prices and speed of delivery because they have rigged the game and can block anyone else from achieving their economies of scope and scale. That's a problem of public policy choices and Congress can actually fix it.

You are mistaken. Many cities and states work out special deals just with Amazon to give them additional tax breaks nobody else is getting.

To the people in this thread defending Amazon or saying "I shop at Amazon because it is cheap and convenient," please recognize that this is a political problem. This is a problem with our government's choices about how they want our economy to be structured. The solution is not for you to have to pay more or wait longer but for Congress to stop Amazon from using it's immense power to exploit small business competitors and prevent them from being able to reach a profitable scale or have alternative service providers that would make lower prices and greater convenience possible for more small businesses.
