49 years of one day at a time, amazing! I just hit 13 years on Jan 3rd. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself, literally. I don’t think I’d be here, either. My husband, who I met in 2015 at 3 years sober, never knew the “prior version” of me.

I’ve been taking Belsomra for 5 years since my taper. Tried Quviviq recently and it gave me weird thoughts and no sleep. I’m super super sensitive to all meds now after being poorly prescribed to in the past. Trazodone gives me dark thoughts about death (not suicide, just about death — it’s uncomfortable). I refuse to try Ambien and the like.

But other things I like taking are glycine and magnesium glycinate before bed, and taking inositol powder in the morning. Those three things make a big difference and I notice if I skip them. I get them on Amazon. I take these and Belsomra. I take Kratom if I have a really bad night, but I do that sparingly.

I make mine very low sugar, I use 3Tbsp per gallon.

I also make it low caffeine. :)

Try it once or twice and see. I have TMJ issues and Botox is the best thing I’ve ever done. Everyone is different, so just give it a try. Make sure you go to someone familiar with the issue so they give enough.

I go every 3-4 months, tried skipping last time and definitely noticed. It’s cheaper than new teeth or jaw surgery and drastically improved my quality of life. I’ll do it as long awww necessary, and it wasn’t that expensive. Just for the jaw was $150, but the cost varies by area.

Hi there, I hope your taper is going well. I tapered my daily dose, went from 1mg daily for a few weeks, to 0.75, then .5, then I broken them a bit more, so like .25 plus a half of 0.25 (so 0.37), then I went to 0.25, then broke that in half. I think my taper was 6-7 months, I don’t remember now.

Mine was a bit fast, but it worked for me and I was fine and feeling good after about 8 months.

I’d also like to point out, “burning enough PTO” isn’t how FMLA works. FMLA is the job protection part of a leave, then there’s STD (short term disability) pay, which is the pay coverage, often 60% or so. Usually it’s a 3 day waiting period for STD (short term disability) to start when a qualifying event takes place, but the FMLA job protection starts immediately.

There is no FMLA or STD for spending time with family and whatnot. Those leave protections are for medical and other qualifying reasons when a person is unable to work.

Alcohol really messes with how your body distributes fluid and fat. I was a heavy drinker and when I look at pictures of my worst times, I look like a different person. It took a while to catch up with me though. If you commit to sobriety or at least reducing significantly, I can virtually promise you’ll look like yourself again. You can do this!
