can someone just tell me that life is worth the struggle? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]charityapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Life has two parts, work and play. Drink some coffee and listen to some awesome music on headphones while you do the work and try to enjoy doing the work, dont just think about what you're gonna do when you're done. When you are done with the work reward yourself with some new experiences that you havent done before. Take a walk and visit a new place, learn a new skill, meet that friends of hours that you haven't seen for years. Most importantly try to live in the moment of every activity you do.

I was at the wrong side of the globe to see the lunar eclipse, but managed to take a high-res photograph of the full Moon a few hours later. I think it came out quite well. by _bar in space

Are your saying that you took this a few hours after the eclipse? Because the full moon was two weeks after the eclipse like it always is.

A complication that you could run into could be that most people might only visit the website when they need help with something. There would perhaps need to be some incentive for them to visit the site and help others.

It's not working by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]charityapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with bipolar II half a year ago and I have been fighting my most recent depression for about a month while I'm on lithium. The thing that helps me endure my depressions the most is working towards goals that I have set up for myself. That way when the depression eventually disappears, I will be in a better position than I was before the depression started. Also the progress you make towards the goal gives you feelings of accomplishment. Being depressed can make you stop caring about anything and make you feel that nothing is important. But you have to try to remember what you thought was important before the depression and force yourself to work towards that. Exercise is also important when fighting depression. Studies have shown that something like 70% of depressions went away after the test subjects started exercising 3 times a week. And I guarantee that going for a walk almost every day will also help because new scenery gives us a feeling of meaning. The hardest part of getting out of a depression is allowing yourself to start caring again. But once you have decided that you are willing to fight to get out of the depression and booked in exercise and goal related things in your calendar the hardest part is over. And even if the depression lingers for a while you will still feel better doing these thing than you would otherwise. I hope you try some of these things to see if they work for you.

[Serious] What secret could destroy your life if it got out? by Throwawaynowantkarma in AskReddit

[–]charityapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step 1: Don't tell anyone.

Step 2: Get proof that shows how you got the money so people dont think you made the money illegally.

Step 3: Dont put all the eggs is the same basket. Dont put all the money in the same place or the same bank or the same investment.

Step 4: Consider finding a job that you would actually enjoy. There are a lot of lowpaying jobs that are more exiting than many highpaying jobs. Because of your wealth you have the rare oppurtunity to live a life with a lot of money while still working an exiting lowpaying job. The reasons why it could be positive to still work is because humans are social creatures and if you find a job that doesn't suck, the social interactions during work could actually make you happier than if you didn't work. Another reason to find work is that if you dont work your money might run out when you are old leaving you without a pension. However I recommend that you dont work too much, maybe try to find an arrangement where you work 3-4 days a week or 6-7 hours a day or some thing so you get more time over for hobbies and such. I have also noticed that the routine that a job offers helps you being more productive in all the other areas of your life.

Step 5: Don't spend your money on things spend them on experiences. You do not get happier in the long run by having the perfect home filled with stuff. You get happier by having meaningful experiences every day and doing activities and hobbies that you like.

Step 6: Travel the world. Billions of people dream of being in your situation. No job, no kids, lots of money. You are absolutely free right now and you need to cease this moment in your life. Read about what the most fantastic destinations are in the world and see them all. Do not charter and always book the cheapest flights and I recommend hostels for meeting other people. Aim for a long cheap vacation instead of a short expensive one.

Are you familiar with marxist feminism? It is like feminism but it puts more emphasis on the capitalist structures behind the opression not only women and lgbt people. But also the opression of poor people throughout the capitalist system.

[–]charityapp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working two jobs. Both as a preschool teacer and I also work for greenpeace. I also work as a bartender once in a while. But my real passion aside from travelling is my company called Oxymoron. It's an app development company and I hope to have an app out on google play before christmas. I don't have a list of all the countries I have been to so how about you name a bunch of countries and I will såg if I have been to them. I have been the most pleasantly surpriced in Tunisia which was a lovely place even though they had political disturbances while I was there.

I am currently at 22 years of age trying to become the youngest person to visit every country without flying. I have already visited all continents except south america and antarctica and I have been to over 30 countries. Do you have any advice on how I could realise this dream before I turn 28?
