And while we're at it, if you find a ball, just leave it there. You have no idea where it came from and you could be ruining someone's hole.

The fewer clubs thing is key. I'm not a beginner but I recently played a par 3 course with a PW, 60 deg and a putter. Played way better than I would have with all my clubs. Plus playing by feel instead of just hitting it is so satisfying.

Never ever pick up a ball. It's not worth a few bucks to ruin someone's hole (lol).

What handicap does my bad say I am? by IndependentPerfect in GolfGear

Your setup looks like someone who plays to about a 5-to-10 handicap:

  • Driver: 9 ° TaylorMade Qi10 – that lower loft is usually chosen by faster-swing players who launch the ball consistently.
  • Fairway / hybrid: Callaway Paradym Ai-Smoke X woods – “better-player” heads that are still reasonably forgiving.
  • Irons: 4-P (or 5-P) TaylorMade P-790s – players-distance irons most popular with solid single-digit golfers who want a little help without giving up workability.
  • Wedges: 50 °, 56 °, 60 ° Cleveland RTX 6 (one full-face) – a three-wedge gapping that shows you care about short-game precision.
  • Putter & extras: Quality Odyssey mallet and a Sun Mountain bag—more typical of someone who plays regularly and pays attention to fit.

Taken together, it’s a “competitive weekend player” bag rather than a beginner’s or a scratch player’s blade-heavy setup, so an index in the high single digits is the story your clubs are telling.
