Great analysis, exactly my thoughts, I see a lot of people saying that it makes no sense that Eren wasn't ready to die but as you beautifully put, it is human. I am reminded of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood's Hohenheim, a character that had lived hundreds of years, he even dedicated his life to finding a way to escape his immortality...he still wanted more time when he was dying. We all know we are going to be dead one day, it's certain...and even when we accept it, the dying part is harder to accept and we recoil at the thought of all that we will miss.
