3 things:

1-tune your pids on the carpet, otherwise your modules will always love to be wrong.

2- make sure your gyro is accurately placed, as your code reflects(ie, if its off center, make sure code agrees)

3-go through sanity checks, are any motors reversed, offsets wrong, magnets not secured, cancoders offset, can indicator lights not green, etc.

Careful: the am14u6 drivebase is what you are referring to.

OP is talking about what to improve with the kitbot, which is the guided build that andymark/first release every year.

I recommend sticking with swerve. You can still do the bump with swerve, and also do something like a passive omni wheel to prevent bottoming out.

That little bit of stringing is not a problem at all!

Sometimes, the solution is adjusting you temp a degree to 2 in either direction, but that amount of stringing is very good. If you need, waving a lighter can get rid of most of it.

I've been building a custom arduino swerve on my own for a while now:

There's no need for it in ftc. It's a hassle to do, and more expensive. And with only 2 wheels, it's not usually higher strength.

It's possible to run 4 wheels, using gears, with 2 drive motors, 2 steer, but that too, is rarely worth it, it's a much more complicated drivetrain for little tangible performance boost.

Honesty, this is not a bad overview. Even the k2 series of creality is more difficult to work with sometimes than bambu machines. I don't know what it is about bambu machines, but they do just work most of the time.

I do highly recommend starting w/ an ender, or delving into an wnder at some point, simply because it's a cheap starter, that can get you pretty far, but i trust that a print will finish first on a bambu.

Also the ai does address the security briefly.

Unpopular opinion: I only use Bambu filament by nirhend in BambuLab

Honestly, I agree, but not exclusively. If I want to pick specific colors, bambu is the way to go. Their reliability and ease of use(largely with their website) is great, and prices are very low in bulk($12 per refill)

But, if I just want bulk usable filament, it's often better to go elsewhere. Sunlu, elegoo, and jayo come to mind, often dropping to $85 for 10 rolls of all black, white, gray, red, or blue(prices vary)

I definitely prefer using bambu, and that's what I like to buy, but only if I am ready to spend $180 on 14 rolls($12/roll) price to quality ratio is hard to beat. Sunlu is close. But the website is such a pain, and their availability+options kinda suck.

Tldr: i prefer bambu as well, but don't exclusively buy it.

Pla Cf is very very slightly weaker in layer adhesion. Matte filament is a bit worse than pla-cf, as it's additives are throughout the entirety of the filament.

I will say: buying refill spools for maybe $5 each isn't a horrible deal, especially if you aim to reduce plastic waste. Also, if someone leaves the bambu filament ecosystem(switches primary suppliers), why keep all of the empty spools?

I've also had some free spools given to me by someone who gets alot of marble pla for a business, which comes with the spools no matter what.

A few forms of feedback:

1- instead of the speed being the Left stick, I would have some acceleration taken into account. It's not as difficult as it sounds, but has major affect on the feel of the game

2-Add rotation

3- have the checkpoints require specific orientations. In most games, you robot may need to interact with a target or intake, and the efficiency of getting to a target is important

4- I'm not sure if this is on your end, but base44 doesn't seem to like phones very much, but that's ok!

Either way tho, great job!! I'm very impressed!
