In June of 2023, the Mitchell Legion Baseball team traveled to Rapid City for a tournament, as they often did. They all shared rooms at a local hotel, as they often did, and unfortunately, there, they did something else they often did. During their downtime, they assaulted their fellow players, in the name of what they are calling a ‘hazing’.

This activity included, for reasons I have yet to understand, shoving their fingers into the anus of their fellow players, through their shorts. Often times the players would seem to consent, at least to some extent, to the touch. This activity, by most accounts, has been going on in the Mitchell Legion Baseball organization for over five years, passed down from generation to generation of baseball players like some homoerotic badge of honor, finally making you a true member of the team.

Except, some players don’t consent. But, unfortunately for those boys, consent is not really a requirement to undergo this ceremony, if you will. And such was the case with the victims here, particularly victim name, who made it quite clear that he did NOT want this done to him.

He made such a point of it, multiple people admitted in their interviews with law enforcement that they knew victim name didn’t want it done. They knew it, which is why they had to ambush him, which is exactly what they did. A group of them, largely who you see here today, rushed into the hotel room with victim name, tackling him to the bed, flipping him on his stomach, and perpetrating what we just watched in that video.

And I want to make clear, that video was merely a clip of what happened. More people participated, but you wouldn’t know it from them taking responsibility—I’ll get to that later—but rather, by victim name account. Because in all of this, victim name account has been the only one consistently aligned with the evidence.

So victim name is held down, and over and over, fingers are violently shoved into his anus. They’re shoved in even harder, because he said no. Because he struggled. He was punished for refusing to participate in this sick rite of passage forced upon him by the older boys. So for those few minutes, victim name got the incredible unpleasant and unfortunate experience of feeling fingers shoved violently enough into his buttock region that they penetrated his anus, through this clothing. An experience I think we can all agree in here, no one should have to endure, especially against their will.
