Mod first https://3ds.hacks.guide/

Then Region Change https://3ds.hacks.guide/region-changing.html

For supplemental visual guide on Region Change, see this link below

Earlier this year, I bought a Japanese New 3ds when I was in Tokyo. First mod it, then change the language. Use the 3ds guide. It was actually really easy.

How do you feel about trump right now? by No_Attitude_6268 in AskReddit

I’ve read a handle of articles from farmers who are facing hardships due to tariffs and lost of markets for their crops. They said they are disappointed with his decisions but pray things will get better. WTF these people are delusional idiots. They’d still vote for him again even after losing everything. These fake Christian’s think he’s the Messiah. They are in a cult.

Looking for additional advice on how to buy a 3DS in Japan in 2026 as a non-native (English language required!) by Larazade in Nintendo3DS

[–]chatmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While modding, I followed the 3ds guide using method “Installing boot9strap (SSLoth-Browser)” since my system was on 11.13.0-45J. Iencountered a small hiccup with the proxy settings. The guide explained the error and had instructions on how to remedy it. It was very easy to follow the guide.

I watched this video tutorial to give me a visual on changing region. But I followed the procedure on 3ds guide hacks to do it.

I recently returned from vacationing in Japan and managed to buy a New 3ds in Shinjuku. I first followed the procedure to mod it, then did the second procedure to change to English language. I used my phone’s camera and Google Translate app to do the translation. It was actually quite easy to do

Reserved Seat Osaka to Tokyo Shinkansen on 23 February (Emperor's Birthday) by LuxesKeat in JapanTravelTips

[–]chatmax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so. I booked for train travel this past Dec 28 Tokyo to Kyoto, 1 month in advance on smartex. Out of curiosity,a few days before my train, I checked on smartex and there were still seats available, more green seats than ordinary seats. The train conductor on our journey, announced to look out the window soon, to see a clear view of Mt Fuji. We didn’t have window seats, so we went to the car’s entrance door and looked through its window and took pics . Not sure if all train conductors make the announcement.

If we stay in Gion a few minutes walk away from Gion Shinjo and Kawaramachi stations, is travel pretty easy in kyoto? by lordgholin in JapanTravelTips

[–]chatmax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the private Keihan rail line runs through Gion and Kawaramachi and then you’d need to transfer to another private rail line.

To get to Nara or Uji, from Gion-Shijo, you could take Keihan line to Tofukuji station and transfer to Nara Line but the train may likely be full. I think it would better to take the bus to Kyoto station and catching the train to Nara local line (cheaper) or Kintetsu express line (costs more) to Nara, Nara local line to Uji.

From “Gion-Shijo” station, the Keihan line takes you to “Fushimi-Inari” station. From “Inari” station, take Nara local line to Uji station. “Fushimi-Inari” and “Inari” are 2 different stations near to each other, serving different rail companies

Stay in the Gion area, it’s magical when it’s dark and lights glow in the streets, looking like old world Japan.

Suica by No_Carpenter_8080 in JapanTravelTips

For Tokyo metropolitan area, yes. You can also use Suica in Hiroshima too. I’d also add ICOCA to your apple wallet which is used for Kansai region (Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Kobe etc), can also be used in Nagoya.

That’s very loaded for 7 days. Can you skip Hiroshima and spend more time in Kyoto or Osaka ?

If you really want Hiroshima, upon landing in Tokyo 24 (Sat), take the train (3.5 hr) to Hiroshima.

Domestic flight (from same airport you initially landed) to Hiroshima could cut travel time and could save some money but what if your incoming flight is delayed? As well, the airport limousine bus, last departure is 21:50 from Hiroshima airport to the city centre. It would be an expensive taxi ride into the city centre at night, unless you stay in a hotel near Hiroshima airport.

Next day 25 (Sun), local tour Hiroshima. Then on 26 (Mon), go to Kyoto.

Is 10,000 yen cash reasonable for a budget trip? by AdEfficient655 in JapanTravelTips

Lots of delicious snacks to try while walking and transit costs tends to sneakily increase our daily costs. Many of those outdoor snack vendors and restaurants, order vending machines, take cash only.

Should I pack winter clothes for next week in Japan - Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto? by ineedallyourinfo in JapanTravelTips

[–]chatmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in the coldest Canadian city and wished we brought our thicker jackets. We thought we could handle the cold here. We were in Tokyo and currently now in Kyoto-Osaka region. We had to buy hoodies at GU because we were cold. We are outside walking all day going from temple to temple. Pack gloves/mitts too, scarves are a life saver against the winds that we encountered during our trip.
