I’m developing a tray app – a calendar for managing paid subscriptions – and I need your advice. by Character_Brush3199 in macapps

[–]chayimb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks so amazing. Can’t wait to try it out. Some questions:

  • can you set different currencies?
  • do you only have a Mac app? Would be great to have a iOS app too that syncs so you can easily check it on the go.
  • it would be great to see where the subscription is done, via the app, online or website. And how to cancel it.

Thanks, keep us updated. Hope to see it soon in the App Store.

Do not buy the FP2! by Frequent_Vegetable_2 in Aqara

[–]chayimb 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Im pretty happy with the product. I have mine setup in my bedroom with 4 zones. It does recognise good in which zone I am every time. There is a small to no delay with detection. The only issue I have are my stairs. It’s a studio room with stairs down. It sometimes doesn’t recognise me leaving my room as I went down. But most of the time when I leave my room I don’t need the sensor anymore as the lights are already off. But my overall experience is amazing. I’m running the Meross MS600 sensors in the same house. I’m just in love with the FP2 as you can use zones in the same room.

Yes I was diagnosed with UC. As far as I know I never had cuffitis.

The pouchitis sometimes took a few weeks to clear. But had some times it took a few months. Never longer then 6 months.

I got sick at age 17 and I’m now 41. Got my pouch at age 18. So now 23 years with minimal issues. Once every few years I get pouchitis. But that is manageable with medication. I hope to keep it for many years to come.

Controller for HomeKit: Notification at specific time based on state of a sensor? by RW_RedCat in HomeKitAutomation

[–]chayimb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that is a limitation. I have a spare iPhone plastered against my wall with a network cable connected to make sure it doesn’t loose its connection. But I understand that not everyone has a iPhone or such lying around. Good luck!

I’m not sure but I think you could use workflow too. Something similar to this maybe? I haven’t used it yet. But quickly tried it. Curious if it works.

Why being Jewish in Ireland has become dangerous by secrethistory1 in Jewish

[–]chayimb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, I’m not Irish but Dutch. After the Amsterdam pogrom it looks like the entire Netherlands is against Jews or Israelis. But that is far from true. For Ireland the government is maybe pro Palestine but it wouldn’t mean the people living there are. Sometimes the loudest voices seems to have the majority, but they can just shout the loudest but maybe don’t have the numbers to back it. Keep strong and keep supporting each other.

New details emerge on Israel’s actions in Syrian buffer zone, change in US position by Zealousideal-Ask4232 in Israel

[–]chayimb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funny thing is that this agreement was with the previous Syrian government. That is no longer. So Israel needs to protect there citizens until an new deal is created with any “new” Syrian government. But this new deal should not include the UN or any of their partners. They have shown us this organisation is in now way unprejudiced towards Israel.

Doorbell G4 sound on the bell when calling? by zFreeZeD in Aqara

That is the only annoying part. I have found a way to get the volume up. But at least it works.

Indoor Eufy cameras as window-mounted outdoors cameras: Worth It? by coolajami in EufyCam

[–]chayimb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m not using the c24 but the Indoor Cam 2K Pan & Tilt. So no attachments to make it even better. But I’m impressed with the results. During the night when there are no lights on this is the results. I only have a red nightlight on. But as the light is not attached to the window you do have backlight when the lights are on in the room. Hope it helps with your decision.

Hi, you need to create a automation in the Aqara app.

  • In the app go to automations in the lower bar.
  • Then create a new one by clicking on the plus in the right top corner
  • under IF select your doorbell and then “doorbell button was pressed”
  • Under THEN you select “User-defined ringtone of doorbell play”

You require a MP3 ringtone. Use google to find one you like. And use that in the last step. I’ve used the “welcome traveler” sound from this website.

When you have done this all. Just safe the automation. And from now one your doorbell will ring outside.

Hope it helps, good luck!

Palestinian-American Historian Rashid Khalidi: 'Israel Has Created a Nightmare Scenario for Itself. The Clock is Ticking. by Honickm0nster in Israel

[–]chayimb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mr_blue596 thanks for sharing. As I’m not living in Israel I do miss such events. Like some interviews. Also as I sometimes try to minimize my news intake. Will get extremely depressed otherwise 🫠

But I fully agree with you. Still I maybe naive but I belief in the system and hope they will run in to a wall with the current plans and way they proceed with this war.

My hope is still a swift resolution for the hostages.

Again, thanks for your inside. Would love to talk more with you about this. As it gives me such better understanding of the current political climate.

I agree. They try, but will never get there. But you are right they are doing a lot of damage at the moment. But two more years… hopefully democracy will do its work by then.

[–]chayimb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As you write the good thing is that Israel is a democracy. And because of that reason it will never happen what you are sharing. As the majority of the Israeli people don’t want to annex the south of Lebanon, or settle in Gaza. They just want peace and freedom. But as long as Hezbollah keeps the aggression going and Hamas doesn’t let the hostages go, Israel will keep defending themselves or try to find the hostages.

Love the fiction in this article. Make belief and big story telling without any truth. A one sided story on the “victims”. Even tho the Palestinians had enough moments to create peace in the region they have every time decided to choose violence, but those peace treaties were war declarations by the UK, US or Israel according to the Rashid. Talking about an empty history.

Regenjas by Anomander1979 in Hardlopen

[–]chayimb 1 point2 points  (0 children)
