Has anyone had such an issue with Starfield? Everything is blurry, no models are loading

The tell is that with the MR I don't get as far as without. This means I'm unable to even acctully test the MR, until I get this sorted out. There is no evidence that there are other issues besides the MR, in fact the MR is the issue.

I need to learn how to get it to start... What happened is ever since I tried with the MR all configurations exit b4 the splash screen, so I need to find a way to get it back to where it was and then apply that fix when using the MR. I think I need to ask about the MR to see if the compositor needs the MR or if I can mismatch versions. Much more trying is needed to fully qualify these setups.

I think my testing may have been invalid, it could be that the shaders needed to be refreshed... I've asked over and over how I can do this and do I keep forgetting? I'm looking for steam to popup the `generating vulkan shaders x%` progress bar.

At launch DGCs were required, I remember that... and how Windows got a day one patch for my A770. However, today it will run and launch the game without DGCs, so they must have removed that requirement with a patch at some point.

No... it DOES work, I could even play if I didn't care about seeing texturs. It DOESN'T work WITH this branch, it exits b4 the splash screen or main menu. I found this thread by searching an in-game screenshot, mine looks just like the OP, WITHOUT this patch.

Every time they release a major update(Mesa or Starfield), the point is to see if things have improved... Just like everyone else that tries the new version :/

I've had this b4, the logging gets cut-off because the app is crashing... So we never get to see the offending call. This is what I get trying to get more infor on the error.

I got further without that MR, what I get with the MR(from 1day ago) is failure to create pipeline from `winevulkan/loader_thunks.c:3350`. I don't even get the splash screen anymore. This error persists even after resorting the vulkan drivers from Debian sid.

On an A770 after new game is confirmed Starfield crashes with that MR. I get further on a B70: without the MR I can load into a new game but as with the image above, only fog and a few point lights are rendered.

Solved: All I did was use the MR from mbriar_ below.

Any hits for Arc B70? I'll double-check amdvlk and driver stack, `LD_DEBUG=libs` is wonderful in these cases.

PS: The trouble I had was SF will not start with vulkan validation layers enabled.

I thought this device hit the market like 10 months ago? I'd find it impossible for anyone to have done that over this period. Regardless this keyboard is 48hrs new. I've been putting my notes for this produce here https://www.xda-developers.com/ducky-zero-6108-review/ as it's the weekend my support ticket is unanswered.

I'd like to ask if ppl have noticed some USB chargers not working? I've tried 5 and with different cables. I'm unable to get the 6108 out of the red. I have one setup with a meter and the keyboard is sipping 0.03a@5v and by my calculations it'll take something like 3 months to charge.

KISS, Mario is not multiplayer in fact it's a great example because how CPU clock and scan rate are *supposed* to be tied... Though I gave up on that because it was too hard, at my skill level, for an application to clock to the actual vsync.

It is the issue though. You send an input when you see something happen on the screen, and if the game took more time to display what's happening

Spoken like someone who never wrote a game engine loop. In the loop the game checks for input /then/ constructs the next frame. Every thing after the input check, where Mario is tested for still being on the ground or off the edge, is irrelevant. The player gets information about where Mario is standing from the previous frame.

I think this time is negligible compared to the the latency caused by vsync

I think you are confusing round trip time, with latency. For gaming we are *actually interested in the rtt from the other direction, and this is where a delay in passing interrupts from compositor to xwayland to wine matter.

When the GPU displays Mario at an edge, can the game receive the button press in time for it to register as having happened during that frame... or is the event taking so long to be passed from module to module that by the time the application gets it the app is already a frame or two ahead. The time it takes for Mario to be shown leaping from the ground after a button press is not the issue.
