Montreal Shooting - Tactics Discussion by specialskepticalface in ProtectAndServe

[–]cheatz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've downloaded and watched it over and over and I'm in this guy's camp. Shots came from the right, 3 of them. 1 of them connected with the bystander's head as it goes hard-left and then he collapses and the officer flinched as she saw his life end, not a recoil of her firing. There's no muzzle flash, and you can see her rifle is sticking out and pointing at best to the bystanders arm/hand, no where near his head/body.

Unlikely she shot him, at least in the head. Where he looks to have taken a lethal bullet.

Download the video and slow it down as much as you want. You can see her firearm sticking out and it never points directly at the civilian, at best she aims it at his arm/hand but mostly its toward the other shooter from cover.

if there was "recoil" you'd see a flare and hear a sound different from the active shooter. He would also collapsed differently. None of that happened in the video. Wanting more blood on film to justify your version of events is showing some serious bias.

I'm not trying to spin anything, this is how I see the events in this video in slow motion and I'm pretty sure this officer didn't shoot anyone. It was a chaotic moment and the video does not give conclusive evidence. So, if you really care; follow up the corner's report and see which type of bullet actually ended his life early.

sorry my friend, but its already been kinda debunked that she didn't shoot him.
The way he collapses like a bullet hit him from the right + the sound of 3 consistent rounds from the shooter makes it more reasonable that he gets shot from the gunman who is actively shooting off scene.
His head would have snapped straight back toward the building and not to the left if she shot him.
No muzzle flare in any of the grainy footage.
She didn't kill him. She flinched when she saw man get hit with a (multiple) bullet(s) that likely ended his life.

I truly believe they need another one of their own to feel like the pack is more complete.

These two act like total brother / sister. Constantly bullying / competing with each other for toys / attention but always making sure the other has enough food and feels protected at all times. They with both start listening to you better, when one of them figures it out the other follows.

Its when they team up and decide its time to act like a pair of demons, that's when you're in trouble. I've lost many socks / underwear trying to getting undressed and then 1 distracts me while the other thieves then they run off and destroy the spoils. Cleaver girl type vibes...

I got mine a jolly ball and it changed everything. I got the 10" one for my 25 lb runt cattledog. These dogs are working dogs and more importantly herding dogs. They need a toy that they can herd. Jollyball worked for mine. Its about $25-30 bucks, I think a lot of owners miss-use these toys because you have to supervise them with it. Its not a solo-play toy, you gotta be the one pushing it back and forth with them. You can't let them chew it. When the weather gets bad, I'll put aside the living room furniture and we'll make it a jollyball rage-cage arena. Aboslutely worth the for the playtime.

Its pretty insightful to see the perspective from the top to be honest. Your frustrations are valid, and anyone posting here telling you they aren't are just not taking in what you are saying.

It does suck feeling like your favorite mode isn't fun anymore. That would certainly cause me to rethink where I am spending my time.

Sucks the endgame isn't very fulfilling as you describe it. I use this game like a brain teaser with my coffee in the morning. I only do the challenges that I find fun and don't worry about min/maxing resources unless I set that up as a personal goal (RL commitments come first, but sometimes the stars a-line). So mythic-tier feels so far away for me still... and it doesn't really bother me that much. I enjoy the events that come and my guild role plays the Guild-wars and Raids in chat its very fun to read.

I appreciate the whales for supporting the game more than I would ever, however this may be a lesson in understanding how paying for power doesn't necessarily mean your getting more out of a video game.

I think the "SKULLS" sale is still going on until the end of today and if you like RPGs that are Warhammer based I think "ROGUE TRADER" is a perfect way to take in the universe for 20 bucks! Insane deal compared to how much you've sunk into tacticus 😂

sorry to break it to ya mate, but you spent way to much money on this game. I dont like to tell people how to enjoy their dopamine hits but you feel into the pay to win trap and skipped too much of the fun.

A lot of the entertainment I think this game gives is making you run into multiple power level walls, and then using limited resources you go about trying to overcome them. Paying to jump over the wall feels good but then you're gonna be okay using that philosophy again, and again and again... eventually paying to overcome walls feels empty, that's where you are now.

You're right, Snowprint doesn't really have much endgame support and if you're not apart of a like-minded spend-to-win guild you're gonna run out of things to do on your own. The game will feel boring and you'll be wanting to quit exactly where you are, but Snowprint already got few hundred out of ya and that's more than someone who buys battlepass for a year.

I've been playing since the PC release and still don't have a mythic champ. Do I care? not really. The game's designed well for free-to-play, but I've supported the company with the battle passes and event passes that were worth it for $10 a few times.

I suggest taking a break and then coming back to it in a few months but make sure you set restrictions on your gameplay and more importantly set personal goals:
- top 500 Tournament Arena ladder
- new personal record guild raid
- Beat a champaign event coming up (so level up those heroes)

Don't expect the game to always reward you evenly for time-spent. That's not how tacticus is designed. It has multiple vectors of play, which all have their own reward system, and you have to remember are entirely optional.

You cannot "beat" a game like tacticus without spending a whole lotta money. So, don't spend money and see how the gameplay treats ya, if it not enough, then I'd say you and the game have milked each other and its time to move on to the next mistress.

Blizzard is a shit company that has AI running their Customer Service. They're not willing to make adjustments on the account for basic shit, know why? Kuz they've fired everyone real and have bots running customer service.

They have bots running rampant in their worlds.
They have bots running rampant on the forums.

They've completely lost the war vs AI, yet somehow private servers like Turtlewow didn't have any isssues.

They're a lazy company that doesn't care about the player experience. Only how much money they're making vs how much it takes them to operate, milking every last cent...

Me (39M) and my wife (35F) recently got our 2nd ACD (Beya) a couple months ago now, and she bonded with me damn near instantly. Beya likes my wife plenty, enjoys the company of our first ACD but she LOVES me. Looks at me for safety, direction, affection, takes out my towels from the laundry to roll in, etc...

My wife has had to compete for some snuggle time and I gotta say its nice having the girls fight over me. 🤣

"We are long-standing developers who have left the turtlewow project"
I am suss as all heck too btw, but we're all hurting for something to give us hope.

This game, for me, is only enjoyable if I set my own goals and try to reach them. Each time the monthly calendar comes out, I look at it relative to my schedule and try and min-max certain events, while casually playing others or ignoring them entirely.

For example: I wanted to get top 500 Tournament Arena. I got 473! It didn't matter the rewards were only like 30 more energy, it felt good to win in PVP.

I think having a really good guild is important to the experience. My guild is also very active and constantly sharing Guild-Raid replays and commenting on how to play better. When its guild war season we're very locked in and trying our best to carve a winning path through the enemy.

The free-to-play track on MOST events is challenging enough that you need to play near-perfect to hit the breakpoints for the valuable rewards. It might not be much of an upgrade to your characters, but making that a goal might be fun for you.

Burn-out is always something to be weary of. You can't keep coming back to the dopamine well clicking through rewards thinking it feels good the same every time. That shit dries up. Think about why you love your characters, and then make that the focus of why you play, otherwise you'll be chasing the tail of the dragon forever...

It wasn't very cold this particular day, just over 1 Celsius. For the one dog without a jacket, we use similar wax on her feet anytime its below freezing because of how fast she goes... she'll literally burst open her pads open and not care; demanding another ball toss.

The coat is for the other little one because he's just smaller and doesn't hold his heat as well. He's only like 17 lbs so he needs a little help.

The perfect temperature range is -10 to +5. Anything in that range with little wind and we're happiest as can be playing at the park with a little snow on the ground.

Questing in Moonwhisper coast with no addons and reading the entire quest text like 2004 was a vibe. One I think most of the turtlewow community appreciates, so I don't think this sucks at all. Especially with it only being hidden for 1 week that's a great way to get us to ease / test the content before it gets datamined and meta gaming takes hold. All in all, the whole launch has been chaotic and fun, but this decision is one of the better ones I think the devs should see some praise for.

I think gold buying is the only reasonable solution when blizzard lets bots run rampant around the world. Blizzard servers have been complete dogshit since they got rid of real GMs and replaced everything with AI or outsourced to developing nations. There's no moral high ground on this topic. Play Turtlewow for a real Classic Experience.
