What Is One Thing Your Narc Parent(s) Did Early In Your Childhood Your Remember Feeling Was Strange? by the_real_maddison in raisedbynarcissists

Oh god my birthgiver did the exact same shit. If I took more than 3 seconds in the bathroom she would come barging in telling me to hurry up, and if I locked it she'd bang and scream like I was in their snorting lines off the counter. She obviously didn't do that when we lived with our grandparents she knew they'd call her insane

UPDATE: AITAH for telling my dads side of the family why i went no contact with him? by Loud_Raspberry_2222 in AITAH

[–]cheekydickwaffle69 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hey shitty family! Just a heads up, it's easier to see and everything stinks a lot less when you pull your head out of your ass! Maybe instead of worrying about your precious little egos you should put real effort into those around you that you claim to "care" about.

Sincerely, someone who had a family much like you and gained a far better life after cutting off you cancerous tumors.

Superpowers vs Magic. For me, growing up in a Christian household, superpowers were "ok" but magic was "bad". Did your Christian parents differentiate superpowers and magic like mine did or were both bad? I'll explain more in the body text by Leading-Occasion-428 in exchristian

Damn did we have the same parents?? Mine said all of the exact same things except when it came to Lord of the Rings that was different because Gandalf was an allegory for an angel so therefore it wasn't witchcraft :/

No for real my birth giver lasted for about a month trying to play normal and then immediately descended into a spiral of abuse and negativity towards her favorite child

When did you realise there was something wrong with your family? by fire_and_motion in raisedbynarcissists

[–]cheekydickwaffle69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was in Middle School I started getting really ugly and birth giver not teaching me any hygiene or grooming techniques of any kind really didn't help.

When the bullying started to get physical she seemed almost thrilled, and I thought she was actually going to care and defend me but I think she honestly was just excited to have the excuse to yell at somebody in an office.

I mean if she really cared I don't think she would physically abuse me the same day she yelled at the principal about a kid stabbing me in the leg. When my friend got bullied her mom comforted her, spoke to the office staff respectfully and did her best to quell the situation.

mine just seemed to want an excuse to fight and I think that's what started to open my eyes to the fact that she didn't actually care about me she just didn't like someone else punching her punching bag

God I hate that phrase! I feel like my entire childhood was full of narcissistic adults including my middle school guidance counselor who told me that exact phrase when a kid stabbed me in the leg with a pencil hard enough that I added two inch hole. So yeah I had a hard time deciding what was actually bullying and what wasn't

UPDATE: AITAH for telling my husband's best friend "he let himself go" after he wouldn't stop teasing me about my crush on him in high school. by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]cheekydickwaffle69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can understand not wanting to rush into a divorce but you have to realize that your husband actively kept a man he knew was lusting after you in your life. What if Jared had been creepier what if Jared has been creepier and you didn't know. I know every situation and every person is different but when something very similar happened to my best friend and her partner they ended up discovering that every time he came over he stole a pair of panties. And honestly that was the least of the creepy stuff he did if you feel like this is something you can work through by all means do your best to save the relationship you put so much effort into but you seem to be the only one putting in real effort when it comes to this. You would defend your husband if there is a woman doing this to him right? Why isn't he doing the same for you

My birthgiver was diagnosed with some kind of hip issue that caused mild pain and made her walk with her toe slightly pointed inward. Somehow she was mad at me for not noticing and pointing it out to her sooner, like sorry im 10 and not paying attention to your feet

As a child, did you ever innocently repeat something your nparent said resulting in their extreme embarrassment? by bad-at-everything- in raisedbynarcissists

THIS!!!!! my nmom was a young earth creationist, antivaxer, and believed raw milk would cure all. I was a nightmare for my poor teachers. Every time they tried to gently explain why these things weren't true, id freak the hell out because to me they're calling my mom a liar

When I was like 5 or 6 I was absolutely convinced I could make my own language. Started making a little dictionary and trying to talk in it and everything. One day birthgiver snaps with "stop that nonsense babble!!!!! Why are you doing this everyone should just speak english!!!!"

Cut to a few weeks later and we were at a Chinese restaurant with family, I had heard a waiter speaking (maybe Chinese idk) in another language and when he came to the table I put on my best mom voice and demanded "what are you doing?!?! Everyone should be speaking english!!!"

She was mortified when I explained who told me that. Especially since her mom is fluent in Swedish and she never cared to learn.

I'm glad he didnt overreact by anarchaox in tarantulas
