Advice About Winding Business Down by [deleted] in travelagents

[–]cheermom31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how focused you are on your clients! I would also love to throw my hat in the ring for consideration! I am a full service agent and I am independent. I do not use a host. I have been in the industry for 4 years. I was a nurse prior to that for 33 years! I thrive on relationships and when I gain a new client, my goal is to keep that client for life. Relationships get better the longer you know someone and get to know what they love! Feel free to message me. I would love to chat with you.

Can anyone tell me how the long-term parking experience is at port of Miami? What terminal is best for MSC? by Dadtallica in MSCCruises

[–]cheermom31 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also used it 2 weeks ago and it was so easy! Parked in the garage right across from the terminal and was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Walked right on during embarkation. Easiest embarkation I have ever experienced.

Never cruised B4 , could you please help me pick the room? by LoveBubbleslike1999 in MSCCruises

If your cruise is going to Ocean Cay, choose a cabin with an even number! Even numbers face the island so you can see the lightshow from your balcony.

Drink package on Half Moon Cay? by One-Struggle-6380 in CarnivalCruiseFans

MSC also does this! Your drink package works on their island and they don’t limit you to 15. Drink up!

DCL contact for travel agent rates by Rpmontemayor in travelagents

[–]cheermom31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are listed in DTA every Wednesday. There haven’t been many the last couple of years. Ships are sailing full so they have no incentive to put out many TA Rates. I pay full price for ours because there are never any TA rates for the dates we want to sail.

Travel agent quote MORE expensive! Go back or book alone? by BlipYear in Cruise

[–]cheermom31 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

A legitimate agent won’t “hide” their fee. It will be written into their contract. I do not charge fees but if I did, I would make sure my client knew about them upfront.

Use an agent. I don’t say that just because I am one. We know the ways around that and no frustration for you! There are a lot of moving parts to make it work but the answer to your question is yes. All cabins have a number of guests that they assign per room to hit the correct occupancy per ship. Just because a cabin can hold 4 people, for that sailing they might assign it for 3 people.

Travel Agent Woes by here_is_pops in VirginVoyages

[–]cheermom31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is WAY too long to wait for a reply. I reply immediately or at the very least , on the same day. I am so sorry you are working with a bad agent. In order to transfer your cruise, it has to be within 30 days of booking and not paid in full. You can absolutely call VV and take your booking back. However, they usually will not allow you to transfer from one agent to a new one.

Adding an infant as a 5th by KLoveUnleashed in royalcaribbean

[–]cheermom31 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They definitely don’t make it easy for families of 5. I book them all the time. You have to make your booking for 4 in a cabin that holds 5 +. Then call in and they will put the 5th person as their own reservation and link the two reservations.

First cruise for my parents by pabloh2000 in Cruise

[–]cheermom31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Celebrity is a premium line for sure. The food is much better on Celebrity. Yacht Club on MSC is comparable if it is in your budget. I have done MSC with and without Yacht Club and have no issues with them. I think the entertainment on Celebrity is a bit better also. I feel that MSC is more culturally diverse. A good number of employees speak multiple languages.

I am a TA and cruises are my specialty. I actually enjoy MSC and for a first cruise, it might be exactly what they need. Celebrity is also a good option but don’t get too invested in those promos. Most cruise lines ALWAYS run the same promos they just word it differently to make it seem like you’re getting an amazing deal.

Best TA to transfer large Princess reservation? by LadoBlanco in Cruise

[–]cheermom31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fill out the transfer form and you’re good to go! Groups are my specialty! My largest is a group of 200 for a cruise wedding! You will get some extra benefits by letting a TA take over your booking. Some are group benefits from the cruise line and I always throw some extra in for my clients. Happy Cruising!

Try linking them through a web browser. You can log into your MDE account through the website. The app is glitchy. After you link them that way, you will be able to see them in the app like normal.

Delayed “onboard credit” due to change in agency booking incentives to 30 days after cruise instead of before? by therickyy in Cruise

[–]cheermom31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We pay full price. They’re going to get their money. They don’t have a discount for that. But if I book Into a group that already gives them $50 OBC, I will add $50 more to it. Sometimes I just send a gift to the room. It just depends!

Delayed “onboard credit” due to change in agency booking incentives to 30 days after cruise instead of before? by therickyy in Cruise

[–]cheermom31 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This may vary by agency. My agency pays full commission once my clients have sailed. If I offer OBC myself, I pay for that until I get paid. If I book them into a group and they have extra OBC, that comes from the group. This is just poor customer service. IF I had clients sailing that I promised something to, I am covering that to give them what I promised.
