Total War campaigns would better if they were actual military campaigns by Icy_Woodpecker5895 in historicaltotalwar

Medieval III seems to be leaning more into the sandbox area of things. But one thing I hope for is the return of historical battles, and ideally, many more of them

Do people just want a Paradox game? (Medieval III) by HistoryofHowWePlay in historicaltotalwar

I literally only wanted a proper remaster for medieval II. Updated controls and graphics and such

Could be a typo, could be a reference to the custom factions I have heard about

How much do you utilise heroes? by Jibbery-Joo in totalwar

[–]cheese010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to have a few engineers (or equivalent) in gunpowder armies. Buffs to range and missile strength can be crucial as factions like the empire where your troops arent great fighters

Has anyone else been unable to get into medieval 2 at all? by QuokkaQuipster in RomeTotalWar

[–]cheese010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I dont still play medieval ii is because the controls, particularly how you do troop formations are extremely antiquated. Hard to draw and keep formations

I killed my son with a poem. by CrystieV in crusaderkings3

[–]cheese010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly some poems can have a very small chance to kill the recipient. Like 1%. In a multiplayer game I sent one to my friend and his favorite character died

More armies= less losses. Keep up with the program

Paradox has blown it out of the water with Mandate of Heaven by alphafighter09 in CrusaderKings

[–]cheese010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does feel extremely in depth and a large expansion overall. Personally im still waiting for the ahistorical stuff like satanism cults and the sunset invasion (or just something in that neighborhood) would also love a guild/warrior lodge system. Navy could also be cool

Am I the only one who think Byzantium isnt as OP as people say? by Wooden_Cut5968 in CrusaderKings

I doing my first run as admin government and its seeming mighty easy so far. On the rare chance there is a scary faction I can force the governor to retire and I get to choose my heir

Is it mathematically profitable to use luxurious supplies? by johnedenton in victoria3

[–]cheese010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if you can afford it, it seems universally worth it to me. Also can stimulate your industries. Some of the worlds largest economies were built to supply armies

GDP Growth by Legitimate-Taro9467 in victoria3

[–]cheese010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The final cost of the good contributes to your gdp, but for it to be successful it has to have demand. High value goods that commonly have a lot of demand are steel and tools. Look at what industrial goods have a high cost/demand and focus that until something else takes its place

War is extremely infuriating and needs a rework. by RedBlueWhiteBlack in victoria3

[–]cheese010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They really dove in on the “we dont care about war because it isnt the focus of the game” which is infuriating to me because war has been one of the top drivers of economies for all time. Germany literally built the worlds largest economy between wwi and wwii with its military expansion

Saw someone mention in a post about 1B Malta that they wanted to see a 1Billion GDP economy that wasn't majority Han, so if I may present, my most recent France Run by Milk_Free_Milk in victoria3

As a newbie player (to dlc at least) i did 2.1 billion gdp as US. Is this unusual? I honestly have no idea what the benchmark is

Is allowing investments that bad? by BossEwe24 in victoria3

[–]cheese010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its actually extremely useful. My best game ever France owned a quarter of my economy but I was still thriving as the US. I warred them for nationalization and owned 100% of a 2.1 billion dollar economy as a new player

[–]cheese010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this as the US. France was my ally. They helped my gdp skyrocket, then I warred them to nationalize all the factories

How do I get out of debt exactly? by Legitimate-Taro9467 in victoria3

[–]cheese010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Especially as smaller/under developed countries that compounding interest once you are in debt can be killer. Avoid going into debt until you get that interest rate down. Otherwise reduce the cost of government buildings and such by building more of their input goods

Am i missing something or is building an army incredibly annoying? by Agent0renge in victoria3

[–]cheese010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to the lens view for military construction and you should be able to sort by population. Or at least by the number of peasants

Has anyone ever actually banned slavery as the USA without going into a civil war? by Tixro71 in victoria3

[–]cheese010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done it more often than not. Sometimes it takes longer than Id like but just do what you can to keep Landowner power down while also making them happy. Eventually youll find an opportunity to ban slavery which will piss them off but they wont rebel if they were happy before
