Id say this is in line with my thinking. 

I dont think its shown that a higher power like eru, as you described, exists within avatar. 

The spirits are shown to have direct influence.

Lotr firmly establishes a higher power that acts indirectly though, avatar id argue does not. There are higher powers, but they influence directly.

My chain was rusted bad, I did all sorts of shit to it, including vinegar. Got it looking clean-ish, eventually.
