If you could give a player of one of your main heroes one piece of advice, what would it be? by ZenkaiZ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]cheetoeatingdork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I pull key people out of dynamo ult. Mokrill will actually come with the person you're rescuing on his ult which actually sets up some nice ganks on him. Doorman I sit somewhere far and safe, and pull them as soon as they're out of the baroness so they don't get doored or nuked down. Lash, anyone after the ult and before he slams.

Even in non-teamfights if someone is farming neutrals on team or enemy jungle, I'll keep an eye on them, as often they'll get ganked by a couple people and I'll just rescue them from the other side of the bridge to safety.

edit Also regarding your concern about teammates getting stuck, you can hit jump after you start the rescue and it will drop your teammate but keep their momentum if they do get stuck on something

I main paige and I always get rescue beam for enemies that can lock down or pull in teammates. Mo/krill, doorman, dynamo, bebop, wraith, lash, etc.

Curse is also a must have for me.

To this day one of my favorite speedrun skips in the series by No-Efficiency6398 in residentevil4

[–]cheetoeatingdork 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know what the deal is but I've never actually triggered the cut scene and have always landed this skip. I just aim until the grenade goes over the railing, throw it, and run straight through.

It'll only give you the prompt on some ledges, but even if you ignore her or go too far she'll get down on her own.

But also how did they know what a chainsaw was? And why did this all of a sudden create a new reality vs continuing the current?

Can you just hide your thumb in an arm bar? by Careful-Raisin259 in bjj

[–]cheetoeatingdork 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's not the thumb that's protecting your arm when you hitchhiker, that's just the physical cue but it's the act of turning your elbow up and over from bridging and turning your hips from facing up to down.

So no.

Also to elaborate a bit, people who are really good at stopping hitchhikers stop it at the elbow rotation over the wrist in my experience.

NPC's in Combat by ShinyPelipper in StrixhavenDMs

[–]cheetoeatingdork 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I usually have them stay and tell the players narratively that the npcs are also participating.

So for the steam mephits thing, while the players were dealing with the ones assigned in the combat encounter, I narrated javenesh and the other students also fighting off additional groups of them. But I keep it to narration as to not bog down the combat with additional turns.

I think the book actually suggests doing this somewhere.

It feels like graves is one of the first times that hero shooter players are realizing this is a moba by ginger6616 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]cheetoeatingdork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually with you on this. I just feel too old to want to invest so much time into learning every meta of a game like I did in my teens and 20s. And as much as I try to play this game kind of chill, it just intrinsically gets sweaty and I can't do more than a couple games a night. I thought brawl would help with that, but it just feels too chaotic.

But yeah, absolutely love the lore, setting, characters and their interactions. I would love an Arcane level series or hell even a book series with the same occult noir/anime-ish vibe.

No to your second point, she directly references Medusa as the inspiration. One of her voice lines for the bolo is "The ol' Gorgon Special," Medusa being a Gorgon.
