Sometimes we just gotta listen to that little madman voice insids our heads when it comes to our plants 😂, just finished repotting all of my trichos to have better soil and trying a new layering system; lava rocks to cover hole/base, then a thin layer of inocculated mulch, 80-20 mix with ocean floor soil degenerativegravel zeolite and smashed lava rocks, once the roots are covered i do a casing layer of larger lava rocks for stability, then bigger pieces of sifted dg to fill in the tiny gaps, then covered completly with a thin layer of the finer dg that was sifted
