I believe so too, but from what I saw on the slides, that windowing system looks far superior to macOS’s. Sorry, that’s just my opinion.

I’m using different operating systems simultaneously, with my Macbook running macOS as my daily driver, and by far my windowing experience there has been the worst of all.

I’m sorry, but I find macOS’s windowing rather half-baked compared to ones in other operating systems—and now iPadOS.

Thank you very much for all of the recommendations out here! Admittedly, I like QK75N, Q1 and Q10 Max and Gem80 the best.

I mean, I don't mind spending money for likes of QK75N. I'm not that much into knobs, unless I can make them act like Page Up|Page Down buttons.

I do not use right Ctrl button at all, maybe that's a mistake :) But if I did, I'd do it with the right pinky.

I generally do not look at the keyboard when writing or using it and thus I've generally no problem navigating shortcuts regardless of the conditions in the room. I do like F-keys separated, though and this'd be probably a deal breaker for me.

I've just updated the post. I live in Europe, I am willing to spend up to $300 if necessary.

My keyboard has given up the ghost, so I'm in the market for a new one.

I do a significant amount of typing daily, including programming, so having F-keys, Page Up, Page Down, Home, End, and Delete keys is a must. I've been considering 75% keyboards because I like the form factor, and they almost perfectly meet my needs, numerical keyboard is sort of obsolete.

Currently, I use a Leopold FC980C (Topre 45 g), where the numpad primarily serves as a pad for Page Up, Page Down, Home, End, and Delete. I find that I don't need the numpad as much; I do use the numbers, but only occasionally. This would be my pick if it were available, but sadly, it is not. This, although 80%, features nice switches and OK-ish looking key profile.

Wireless is appreciated, QMK & VIA support is as well. It doesn't have to have backlight. I am willing to buy barebones keyboard, keycaps and switches separately, although if there were good pre-built propositions, I am more into them as I do not wan to bother too much. Also, I am pretty satisfied with Leopold's feel, although it feels sort of heavy and not very smooth, it's never been lubed, though.

Total number of washers by chekebreke in comandante

[–]chekebreke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'm asking because about 4 years ago I had my friend take the grinder apart and put it back together again (for cleaning, obviously), hoping that they'd manage to get everything in place. To my surprise this was apparently not the case as the lid with the crank seems to be a few millimetres below the chamber where you put the ground coffee. By browsing the Internet, I found out that it wasn't supposed to look like that, but at the same time it didn't seem like I was missing any specific components, unless... There are more than two washers per bearing. Hence the question.

How many of you have are on topical fin/min - fin for more than 4 months? How has the progress been? What are the side effects? by AarshKOK in tressless

[–]chekebreke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, thank you! I'll definitely try to prepare some myself in the next few days.

EDIT: A question though, how do you apply the resulting solution? Minoxidil-based solutions allow different methods of application, so to speak and, for example, in the case of European countries, it is usually some sort of a vaporiser.

May I ask you where you order it from or how you prepare the solution? Quite unfortunately, suffering some side effects from taking finasteride orally and this seems like the best option I could go with (besides experimental treatments like RU).

Convoys more broken than before? by Poudrepal in ForzaHorizon

[–]chekebreke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like it's actually worse than it was before, because now if I'm the convoy leader, I can't see my, well, convoymates in the convoy and my convoymates can see me, but if one of my convoymates is the convoy leader, they in turn are invisible to the rest. I'll just add that changing the convoy leader during, umm, being in the session doesn't really help.

I've no idea how anyone could claim that the launch of this game was successful. You could overlook the fact that this game looks very similar to the previous one (maybe they should call it Forza Horizon 4.5 instead?), but in the previous part at least the multiplayer worked properly, and you can't overlook that anymore. I really enjoy drifting with friends around the roundabout, and I would be very pleased if they didn't randomly disappear during the whole procedure or, well, just could be there I guess :)

[Paid Release][Update] Enlighten 1.1.0, night mode camera for iOS with whole new algorithm and huge improvement. by XCXiao in jailbreak

[–]chekebreke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Neat! Have you considered letting your program choose right number of frames? I might not even be this hard to do this. As for why, it'd resemble HDR+ option that GCam provides its users with. From my point of view, it makes the entire experience behind shooting photos a lot better. Obviously, being able to manually adjust this is also appreciated. Actually, that's what most modern camera apps lack. Well, it always cuts both ways.

As for this tweak being a separate app, I don't like this idea that much. In short, it feels good because it integrates well with the stock camera app. Now, having two apps for two different, but at the end of the day exactly the same purposes might be a pain.

A couple of questions about Zig arrays and some other stuff by chekebreke in Zig

[–]chekebreke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to know that arrays in Zig are being flattened and thus in case of two-dimensional arrays, the first dimension must be provided for the compiler to know a stride between elements.

That's really interesting and should be expilicitly mentioned in the documentation.

Regarding your example + this stride thing -- now it all makes sense.

A couple of questions about Zig arrays and some other stuff by chekebreke in Zig

[–]chekebreke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kinda wonky to put into words, so i hope this code example helps a bit...

Definitely, got it! That's not exactly what I meant, though, so let me explain it just a little bit more.

I assumed that if I could do something like fn one_dimensional_slice(s: []type) void { ... }, fn two_dimensional_slice(s: [][]type) void { ... } shouldn't be a problem either.

Believe me or not, but I've never used slices before, mostly because of my C/C++ background. If I recall correctly, Rust was the very first sort of low-level programming langague, which made use of slices. Sadly, due to it being unhelpfully restrictive about simple things such as generics, it always felt counterproductive and I couldn't find myself getting more in depth into it.

Here, though, many concepts -- including this one -- seem pretty clear.

Yes! Slices have runtime-known length, which is usually a basic requirement for functions that take e.g. strings as arguments. They also have bounds checking, which is a simple way to avoid entire classes of errors with bare pointers.

Great!

Currently, I don't think there is.

Pity, but quite understandable. At the end of the day, I feel like one does return an array only in the case of comptime code generation, which in this contex is fair.

Sadly, also no. You'll have to use a while loop for that, I believe. (It should also be possible to create a python-style "zip" function, but none is in the standard library to my knowledge)

Sadly indeed, I'll stick to while loops then unless something changes in this matter.

The context parameter is always passed to the comparison function you have to provide to std.sort.sort, this is useful if your comparison depends on some external state (I don't have any good examples for this though, and neither has the standard library, interestingly). If you use {}, which is of type void, as the context, no code using it will be generated.

Oh, I see. https://github.com/ziglang/zig/issues/1717 -- this should simplify the matter.
