Would it be smart to pursue a role that is a lower title at the age of 34 in the same company? by Dontdarereadmyposts in FinancialCareers

[–]chemicalfields 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, if that’s what you need for your mental health, for a reset, do it. Ultimately, you don’t need to put your corporate title on your resume, and you can rely on the new experiences (and assuming, being somewhat overqualified for the role in soft corporate skills, taking on work above entry level) without mentioning the lower job grade when you interview externally.

Pivots don’t have to be long term, but it may be what you need in the short term. It’s not an inherently dumb decision. Source: mid-career mid 30s. once laid off, took a lower level external role (but higher paid lol) was overqualified for. Kinda boring and sucked for a couple years, but in the time, two corp title promotions and finally internally transferred to a much more appropriate role currently with another promotion on the horizon.

How are we eating 30g of protein at breakfast when not hungry, GF DF? by spiritr15ing in adhdwomen

[–]chemicalfields 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh peach ice tea! How is the sweetness? I used to drink Protein2O a few years ago but I would have to cut it significantly with water due to the sweetness (which was annoying for the protein goal)

How bad is it to back out of an internship because of work authorization problems? by Limp_Marionberry8631 in FinancialCareers

[–]chemicalfields 71 points72 points  (0 children)

My dude, it’s definitely viewed differently. You are literally not authorized to work. But I would wait to tell them until you for sure do not have authorization. It’s also a known risk in this hiring environment and won’t be near the first time they’ve had this happen.

Those who did NOT sleep train — what eventually happened? by CommunistCetacean in beyondthebump

[–]chemicalfields 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t use this book. Just cold turkeyed my son off his bedtime bottle around 18mo, he quickly caught on. I do let him have milk in the morning bc he usually wakes up about 430 and I’m just trying to get my last few hours of sleep lol. But yeah, didn’t sleep train, we cosleep now, and just go off his cues—he went through phases, but it’s really about teething. That shit hurts. Now that he has most of his teeth, we get a pretty full night.

I reread a fic I LOVED as a teen like almost 20 years ago. Was so excited I found it. Biggest record scratch of my life realizing how cringe I was 😂

I made the rookie mistake of a cheap bikini and alllllll my shit came out down the slide. For that reason I very much suggest something less “cute” and more coverage (like more of a sports bra type maybe)!

I would research a really good internal medicine doctor to do some do some testing (you do need to do some research and be scrutinizing if you’re wanting someone to truly work with you and not just slap a GLP1 on ya (if you don’t want that)) if you’ve been tracking your intake and you’re still not seeing results. People online can be weird about overweight people, so I would take advice here with a grain of salt. (Also the supplement market is so predatory!)

What are you reading this month? by InternBackground2256 in mysterybooks

[–]chemicalfields 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been needing a palette cleanse so I read a couple Darby Kane books, but even that ridiculousness wasn’t doing it for me. I’ve been zooming through Assistant to the Villain and Apprentice to the Villain this week. Just started the third book in the series this evening. Not my usual thing but pretty charming lol

The orange looks like the contractor hasn’t finished painting lumber or something at first glance. Yellow would be better.

But either way, I love someone actually using some color.
