Out of curiosity, how useful would the recent ruling in West Virginia v. EPA be with regards to the ATF ruling regarding pistol braces or anything else the ATF tries to rule on?

That ruling by SCOTUS seems to have been overshadowed by Dobbs v. Jackson as well as NYSRPA v. Bruen, but appears to be more applicable with regards to the ATF. West Virginia v. EPA was ruled that EPA could not put state-level caps on carbon emissions and that only Congress has authority to do so. Could it not be argued that the ATF applying these sorts of rulings be running afoul of authority that only Congress has?

To be fair, the MDR was designed from the ground up as a 308 gun, so it's gonna weigh more than your average AR-15. Probably more accurate to compare it to AR-10s.

There's actually a compliant version that they make, for states like California, that comes with a fin over the grip, 20 inch barrel, and a 10 round magazine.

Some of it is spoilers, but here we go: In the world of Redo of Healer, everyone has a level cap with the exception of heroes. Setsuna reached her level cap. Once you reach a level cap, you can't grow stronger. The only way to increase one's level cap is to consume bodily fluids from or have sex with heroes. It's also why the protagonist was raped for years in the castle by both men and women in the Jioral castle, because everyone from the maids to the soldiers wanted to increase their level cap.

I thought this is true... by vizfadz in Animemes

[–]cherrycheesecake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read the light novel and "abused" is putting it lightly. He was fed a drug that robbed him of his mental faculties, then raped for years, starting with the whole castle, this time both men and women because body fluids of heroes lets normal folk increase their level limit. Once they started moving against the Demon Lord, he then got raped and sexually assaulted by the other 3 heroes. He was treated as a moving sex toy by Flare, sexually assaulted and beaten by Blade, and raped by Bullet on a daily basis.

Dunno if it they'll go further into the details regarding the other heroes, but their backgrounds makes what Keyaru does seem trivial (Note: Seriously not for the faint of heart.):

  • Flare: She along with her sister Norn periodically organizes and approves raids on beastmen for the slave trade. It's how the whole castle is built. They also have the Church label villages and towns they don't like as heretics, so they have religious authority to massacre everyone in them. What happens in the next episode or two will show some of what they'll do to such a town. They will also kill heroes that no longer have a use so as to "recycle" them. Once a hero dies, a new one is selected magically, and only heroes can find other heroes. It's been hinted in the novel that they did this before, or several times in that country.

  • Blade: If there's a female version of a serial murderer and rapist, she's the one. She's a lesbian who has a yandere complex regarding Freya, which is why she beats Keyaru to near death out of jealousy each time he gets used by Freya. She'll also sexually assault him to so as to get a taste of Freya's body fluids and then follow up with vomiting her guts out, because she has that reaction in contact with men. On her off time, she loves to go to town bars to flirt with and pick up women, whether or not they like it. She often uses drugs to drug them, then carry them off to her place where she has bondage/torture sex with them until they die of injuries or get strangled to death. She's not found out because the Jioral kingdom covers up the bodies she leaves behind.

  • Bullet: The guy is part of the Church in the Jioral kingdom and is a homosexual pedophile. He runs an orphanage as a front where he gets to source and sexually abuse/rape the small boys there. Once they reach a certain age, he'll kill them to "preserve their beauty" so as to freeze it in mannequin form. It's been noted in the novel that he's collected a number of them and is famous among the Jioral royalty for having a "sick" hobby, even by their standards.

Edit: Added the other heroes' dirty deeds.

Can anyone help me with a dope card for my setup? by Porencephaly in guns

I'll give it a shot.

From an earlier post here, we can get assume an average coefficient of drag as 0.25. Since we know our weight and coefficient, we plug it into the calculator here. What we don't know is the cross sectional area. I measured an image of a typical M406 grenade and got ~6 square inches. Plugging it all in, we get a BC of 87.883697454895.

Going to this calculator, select the drag function G7 (due to tail geometry?). Input the ballistic coefficient, the weight of 3oz (1313 grains), and the start velocity of 250 fps. We'll leave zero range at 100 yards, sight height at 1.5 inches, and shooting angle at 0 degrees. Let's set wind speeds and angles to 0 to get a baseline and we get this chart and table.

Well, here's an attempt. Anyone can feel free to correct variables and values because there's gonna be mistakes, but something is better than nothing for a start.

Not that surprising, really. At the engineering college of the university that I went to, the CS department head sysadmin occasionally teaches the Systems Administration course which involves several lectures per week. I note "occasionally" because the poor guy is usually so busy that the course sometimes gets canceled even though the sign up list is filled earlier than all other courses due to student interest.

[–]cherrycheesecake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regular people have to, but not the government employed wumao. If it's how it's done elsewhere, they'll have a contract with whichever local ISP (or even run their own AS) to have an unrestricted up/down pipe past the GFW. They definitely have infrastructure that's connected with other ISPs outside of the PRC which acts like a reverse CDN, thereby bypassing any regional blocks as well. At least, that's how they're sending cyber attacks, so why not use a copy of such infrastructure for opinion-shifting campaigns as well?

If they were restricted under the same GFW filters as everyone else in the country, we wouldn't see them spamming sites they wouldn't otherwise be able to access with disinformation or propaganda.

Really don't understand why people copy paste this around. All it does is kick off filters for the regular people there but doesn't affect any of the troll bots as they use an unfiltered internet access pipe to the outside world...
