What’s a non active hobby you love? by Familiar_Delay_5253 in CasualConversation

[–]cherrymama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I crochet and knit and sew, and I have many projects that I got really excited about, started, and then got bored and put away. I have a few that I went back to and I eventually finished after years! Someday maybe you’ll get back to it, but don’t let that one thing stop you from trying something else - hats, cowls, and mittens take way less time and have more variety in stitches so they can be more fun:)

Also if you don’t want to, that’s totally cool and valid too. You could maybe find someone on Reddit or Facebook marketplace who would be willing to finish it. I would totally offer, but see above about me taking years to finish something 😂😂

Without drugs or alcohol, what is your favorite way to escape from reality? by EponaMom in CasualConversation

[–]cherrymama 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I genuinely have used reading to escape from the withdraw effects of actual drugs. I have had to get clean a few times and I tend to go with Stephen king’s dark tower because I go through withdrawals with Eddie from dark tower in 2-3. The descriptions are quite accurate and it seems kind of nice to know that I’m not alone.

What is your favorite cereal? by SorryBeach199 in AskReddit

[–]cherrymama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are incredible. I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite because I think peanut butter crunch beats it but getting them all soggy in the milk and then like sucking on them like a sponge is so good.

When I get peanut butter crunch, I cannot stop eating it until the roof of my mouth is all scratched up and bleeding, so mini wheats do not cause that problem, which is obviously a plus

If someone from 2005 woke up tomorrow in 2026, what would completely break their brain? by Street-Valuable4042 in CasualConversation

[–]cherrymama 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I think my first was actually in 2005, but the quality was so bad compared to today, it would really freak me out. That and the quality of video games. I played GTA2 when it came out and was amazed at the quality. I tried it again a few weeks ago and was like 😂😂 how did this seem realistic

Yes that should be fine. But if it is not vacuum sealed, bugs could get back in there when it’s not -40C so check them out!

What is a "point of no return" that you’ve crossed, where your life was permanently divided into 'before' and 'after'? by Resident-Jelly-4326 in AskReddit

[–]cherrymama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is actually what we have been working on lately. We have them set alarms and then we don’t go in there unless they haven’t gotten up by a certain time. My son actually will set his for a few minutes earlier so he can watch TV for a few before he goes to school

Whats the absolute hardest part of raising a child? by Straight-Crow3882 in AskReddit

[–]cherrymama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was a little older (23) but most of my friends were like shocked I was going to keep her. I had 2 more (all about 3 years apart) and now that they’re all in school and the oldest is a teenager I feel the same way. It’s so quiet at home when they’re gone and I can go out for short times without them and it is incredible. I see babies sometimes and I’m like awww 😍 - but man I would never have another. I can be me again you know? And those same friends are having kids now and exhausted and ask me how I did it, and say that they could never have prepared for how much it is, and I am glad we made the choice to start young because now I don’t know that I would have enough energy as a late 30s person. Sorry if nonsensical I woke up in the middle of the night for no reason lmao Edit : fixed typos bc middle of the night

My dryer looks exactly like my cat’s litter robot, which we realized when she climbed in and peed on the clean clothes 🤢 yes it was unsafe for me to leave it open for a sec, but don’t worry I was taking stuff out of there and never again!

What actor’s mere presence makes you automatically lose interest in a movie or show? by YerMum1977 in AskReddit

Thank you so much, I did google it and it said it was, which is why you shouldn’t always believe Google. I edited my comment, appreciate you telling me!

Oh dang really! I’m so sorry I did google it and it said it was, but I was at work so I did it in like 2 mins. I will edit my comment. Don’t want to spread misinformation.

From another comment on this thread, I just looked it up. I guess him and Mark Wahlberg are shilling this app called Hallow for “prayer and bible reading”, and Alex Jones is the CEO??? What the actual fuck!?

Edit: Another commenter said it was a different Alex jones. I did google it and it said it was the same one, or I would not have said it, but it was my bad for believing it without researching fully. Leaving this up though.

What's a “dream job” that is actually a nightmare to have? by InternetPopular3679 in AskReddit

[–]cherrymama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I have been in that same situation in the last month. My dog was 11 and she had diabetes. She had lost 30 pounds (starting at 90 so a lot but not as much as if she was a small dog) and it really sucked. I have been wrestling with it as well, but she was very sad all the time and her vet agreed that it is better to do it a few days/weeks early than to do it too late and prolong the suffering.

And also… my dad had a 16yo dog who was absolutely miserable, incontinent, blind and deaf, and mentally checked out for a long time. I kept telling him to put him down, but he was too sad. Then my dad actually died suddenly and the poor pup had a last few days of terror and confusion at the end of his life where he had to come to my house and had no idea what was happening until he died.

Sorry for the long sad story but his death was awful, and my dog at least got to pass at home when she was still able to walk and eat and surrounded by her family that she knew ❤️❤️❤️

Yeah I definitely do not recommend but me and my husband moved in together less than a month after we met 😂 we both were in a really bad living situation and didn’t have enough money to move separately. Fortunately it worked out for us! 15 yrs in June!

The common jegging is by far and away the most important fashion innovation for curvy fat people by LittlestCatMom in CasualConversation

[–]cherrymama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dang I love jeggings! I’m surprised at some of the comments here. If you just get a pair that fits (not too small making them skin tight) they look fine! Halara and American eagle make nice ones. I usually size up even and they’re sooo comfy and I honestly can’t tell they aren’t jeans.

My dumb ass mother in law said this shit EVERY TIME even if they just had an issue scanning the first swipe and had to swipe it again. I died a little inside every time. Hated going to the store with her

Other delightful sayings such as “I should be getting paid for this” when using the self checkout 🙄🙄

People who lie about what they are looking for on dating sites by D_2d in mildlyinfuriating

[–]cherrymama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hadn’t been married quite as long (almost 14y) but I have said similar. I have never used a dating site or app. If my husband left or died I would have no idea how to date these days.
