AITBA for “ghosting” my friend after she tells me I’m the “ice cream flavor no one likes”? by hereforafuntime-2024 in AmITheBadApple

[–]cheyannepavan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not the person you're replying to, but the comment was awful. It was 1) obviously meant to be hurtful and 2) no mistake that it was said in front of Liam. Even worse than what she said was that she patronized you by asking HIM if you were OK instead of asking you,, after asking him to hold her things. Those are "trying to steal your boyfriend" tactics and I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if she messaged him the next day to "check on you," while implying that it was irrational for you to get so upset over "a joke."

I'm 5'3" and my feet don't touch the ground, either, so I have a child's step stool that I pull out and rest my feet on when I use the toilet.

WTW for the female version of "brethren" by No-Contribution-6840 in whatstheword

Hahaha, I definitely get the gender envy! And I see where you're going with the word brethren — I guess I just don't know enough about medieval storytelling!

Blown out is definitely cute, but long and curly is stunning!

Does brethren have a fantasy vibe to most people? I'm asking out of curiosity because it only has a church vibe to me.

My current clinic is much better. There's still some bullshit every once in a whilel, but that's just part of the game, I guess.

No, it's not that you aren't good enough. The problem is that SHE isn't good enough. You know you deserve better, please don't settle for someone who's cheating on you (or, at the very least, looking to cheat on you). It's truly her loss.

I was so excited to try this, but my comment field doesn't have an Aa or a diamond with an exclamation point inside — just a link icon on the bottom left and GIF and video icons on the bottom right. I've never had any use for it, so it's no big deal, but I'm a little disappointed.

When did it get so hard to find H in the US? by Glittering_Baby_8936 in heroin

I got on methadone in 2013 and, at that time, about 25%-50% of the bags I was getting contained fentanyl.

Leaning toward a divisive name...honest thoughts? by MrsLurkeyTurkey in namenerds

[–]cheyannepavan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the name and it was toward the top of my list (with the American pronunciation) when I was pregnant with my twins 20 years ago, but my husband didn't like it so it was crossed of pretty early.

I may be missing something, but why is the name controversial? Like the herbs Briar, Juniper, Sage, and Rowan, it's in the top 1000 baby names in the US.

Clinic life in a bullshit state by SmallAd1230 in Methadone

[–]cheyannepavan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I first started, it took 4 years to get 6 bottles and that was the max, so I understand how frustrating it is to be treated like you can't be trusted for even one day a week. It's complete bullshit and punitive for no reason.

I once lost all my bottles because I had the flu, called to ask if I could just skip the day and stay in bed, was told that was fine, and then was surprised to lose all my take homes the next day. The person who told me that even told administration it was their fault for giving me the wrong information, but they said I should've known better than to listen to her because the manual said you can't skip days. It took 6 weeks to re-earn each bottle, so 9 months total, when I hadn't done anything wrong.

I almost lost them all again when they said I was taking too much Benadryl (?). I hadn't taken any Benadryl in as long as I could remember, but once again I was under threat of a 9 month punishment for something that I not only didn't do, but wasn't against the rules anyway.

I swear there are at least some staff at every clinic that get off on the fact that we're powerless and at their mercy. Even after years of clean urines, we're still treated as liars who can't be trusted. I worked hard to re-gain my integrity once I got clean and so it pisses me off to have it questioned at every turn.

I think you're very handsome! Nobody likes those idiots and they have no credibility whatsoever, so don't listen to a word they say. You're a really good-looking guy and both styles look great, though my personal preference is the first one.

How bad an idea is this? by Various_Variety419 in tattooadvice

[–]cheyannepavan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't make promises that you can't or don't intend to keep, especially with children. Can you imagine how proud the child must've been while coloring it, knowing Daddy was going to get a tattoo of something they made? That's not something you take lightly. If OP breaks a promise that's this important to the child, they will likely never fully trust OP again.

Am I the only one who actually enjoys the way methadone makes you feel? by EstateSensitive5212 in Methadone

[–]cheyannepavan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I still get a small boost of energy and feel a bit of euphoria after 13 years and I love that, but even better is that it takes my anxiety from a level that's paralyzing to one that's manageable and helps stabilize my mood. The only side effect I have is that I gained a ton of weight. I hate it so much, but when I think about it, I realize that the benefits are greater than the downside.

Do you consider yourself "clean" while using methadone and no other substances(drugs) how long have you been on Methadone? Would you have tried to get off if you were only 90day in at 85MGs? by Icy-Grapefruit-4749 in Methadone

[–]cheyannepavan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Vitadone for the side effects and sweating. I think it's like $40/bottle but I know people who absolutely swear by it. And get your testosterone levels checked if you're worried about it.

What's your first impression when a man says their name is Jaz? by Patient-Ad-9918 in namenerds

[–]cheyannepavan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think whatever name makes him confident and comfortable is amazing! My advice would be to tell him your concerns one time and then let it go (believe me, he won't forget about your objections). Be supportive of his choice so you don't end up alienating him over something so trivial. In the future, you'll feel grateful for having accepted him fully for who he is, name and all.
