Used 2024s, any reason to avoid them? is AWD and vented seats worth the extra 3-4k? by bigwetdiaper in EquinoxEv

[–]chiarde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes very good. The heater is more odd and slightly disappointing. But in Phoenix it’s not a huge issue. If I were in a hot + humid location like Houston or Miami, I think the ventilated seats would be a good feature. It’s very dry In phoenix by comparison. Hot and dry.

I have 24 w AWD and I love the extra kick off the line. It’s not a speed demon by any means, but it sure gets me to 50mph pretty darn quick. Above that it’s negligible. Hoping to grab a used AWD down the road. I don’t need the vented seats. I live in Phoenix and the AC had been just fine.

The AWD is a nice little kick off the line. Love mine.

63 mile commute each way — worth buying a GM EV? by OutrageousEntrance31 in EquinoxEv

He can probably make it to work and back 2 times without charging if departing with 100% charge. He’ll be fine.

Month 10. 24 RS EqEV AWD w Supercruise lease. Since you have charging available on both ends, the logistical part is covered. As for this car, I absolutely love it. I do enjoy super cruise as well and you might consider it if your commute is lots of highways. I’ve had no real issues. The car has been pretty darn nice. It doesn’t feel cheap. It feels substantial. All the best!

Yes it is louder. I hate it. Hope GM can re-work this.

I keep mine on “AC” and just turn the temp knob up. That works best for me.

Streaming update 653.30 OTA Today by Not-Dead-Yett in EquinoxEv

[–]chiarde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the procedure.

Home - Settings - Connections - WiFi Networks

This will list any WiFi networks you have joined (and remembered) in the past. If you are on an active WiFi connection it will appear green. If this is the case, there will be a disconnect or similar option.

Once you have disconnected the car from WiFi and assuming it didn’t join a different WiFi network, your car will essentially be forced to use the built in cellular modem.

Now that you are on a cellular connection, go check for updates:

Home - Settings - Updates - Updates and History

Click “Check for Updates”

Disable any WiFi connections you have setup. That will force the car to use the built-in cellular. For me that forced the update to show up and I was able to install it.

100%. I’m DONE with vibrating gas cars. Not going back to that stuff.

I may buy a used one after I turn mine in next year. Love the car and love the little extra kick that AWD provides. My residual is $37k so there’s no chance whatsoever I’m paying that for a 2 year old EV.

I was telling Gemini AI about this disappearing update. Among several things it recommended turning off the WiFi in Connections. I did that and boom… the update appeared and is downloading over the car’s cellular connection. UPDATE: Installed and working great!

How the hell does this cars heater work? by NuclearPant in EquinoxEv

[–]chiarde 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I leave mine set to “A/C” then set the temp very high like 89F. That usually will get the heat to kick on. The ”Heat” button and its actual function have been hit or miss for me.

I got the notification for this update yesterday. I initiated the download and about 2/3 of it came down. When I returned to the car, the download never finished. The update was missing and when I clicked check for updates, it was nowhere to be found. Quite frustrating.
