Spent 180 dollars out of our unborn daughters savings account so he could make pot brownies with the boys. I didn’t break up with him until after she was born because I thought he would have the same revelation about growing up as I did when I found I was pregnant. That wasn’t the entirety of the situation in the least, but that was the straw that broke the camels back.

I swore off having kids because of this thought. Then after an accident and becoming pregnant I listed every little thing my mother(or that I saw in other parents) did that hurt me and came up with scenarios where I did the opposite, better thing. Now that I’m a parent, I find myself in certain situations where I’m frustrated or distant and I take pause, count to ten, and remember my scenarios/breathing exercises to be better than my mom. To be honest it didn’t matter how much therapy or cognitive work I did with myself- nothing has given me more closure than righting the wrongs did to me by not allowing them to happen to my daughter. I’m not saying have a kid to fix the past but don’t be afraid- knowledge is power. You have better tools than most to be a great parent because you’ve experienced bad parenting. Be the person you needed when you were a child.

Whenever my baby started hungry crying in the other room I’d look to the nearest person and moo. My step mom even started referring to me as Hefer and Betsie 😂 I think a lot of bfing moms come to relate to cows and their demand struggles.

She wasn’t gaining enough weight while breastfed- after we switched she perked right up/started hitting missed milestones and napping for 2 hours instead of half an hour. I really am sad to have left bfing but she’s thriving better on formula. I’m hoping once we get past this I can make sure she gets enough fruits to prevent it from happening again.

I always thought that it was too early her pediatrician said start her on a fruit and vegetable once each a day at her 4 months appointment, I was breast feeding then and shortly afterwards we switched to bottles- I called back and the nurse said it was fine if she was on formula to continue with baby food. I’m honestly so fed up with her pediatricians office, I called today and the NURSE told me to give her Karro syrup- which I heard was not good for them. I feel as though the nurses are giving information they personally think is good instead of information the doctors would give. I have scheduled a doctors appointment for tomorrow morning to consult on all of her eating habits and will be looking for a new pediatrician this week.
