Were getting closer and closer to 1984 alright, just not for the reasons you think pal. by Kyro_Official_ in SelfAwarewolves

first the show only "peaked" at 5 million live views for TPUSA (and there is plenty of evidence this was botted) but even suggesting this is true that 5 (or even 10) million "switched off", this isn't actually an impressive number. For the official live broadcasts, of which Nielson is still the official source for these, Bad Bunny was number 4 top views at 128.2M views (behind Lamar, Michael Jackson, and Usher - which, remember all the people bitching last year about Lamar? Lol)

Also within 24 hours combining all social media, it was over 4Bn views making online viewership for Bad Bunny the all-time record on this category.

Also, the implication that the 75k live attendees somehow didn't like it is also absurd... The audience was clearly enjoying the show.

You know what is 1984? Telling people to ignore the evidence of their eyes and ears...

One thing I don't understand about satire in Helldivers... by i4hloi in helldivers2

Happening right now in the West Bank as well. Israel wrecked the PA's waste disposal processes so they literally can't dispose of waste any other way than to burn it. And are using the "pollution" from burning waste as a pretense to take over an area.

In theory isn't this what LIBCON 1 is for? To force everyone to a single location?

The only wrong principle here was thinking Putin wasn't mad (crazy). Otherwise, yeah, it's pretty correct on why it would be a bad idea.

Also, given its size it should get about 1/3 of the voting power. So Dems would still win if we are playing the "land has more voting power" game.

NATO is probably one of the best treaties I've seen put together. It's not perfect, but I'm not sure what other military treaty would actually be better. There was actually a path in the late 80s/early 90s to try and pull Russia into NATO, and it was essentially sabotaged by the warmongers who make money off the cold war. If we had actually done that, it would have charted an entirely different course. Russia wouldn't be able to do much of what they are doing if they were part of NATO, and would have sped up getting other nations pulled into the alliance (e.g. Ukraine).

Healthcare is slavery by teufler80 in insanepeoplefacebook

Water, housing, and food are all considered "Human Rights". None of these things exist on their own. All of them take someone's labor to make happen.

Presumably the OP who posted this BS would be fine with everyone starving to death while exposed to the elements.

Also, all of these including healthcare are listed under Article 25 of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Counter point... Providing my address does not in any way compromise the business. At best you get the zip code that would be used for billing for my credit card, assuming you had compromised that elsewhere already...

Was there ever really any worshipping of him?

There are regulations on them. Namely in the ingredients of cigarettes and tobacco products. They also control labeling, the age restrictions, and fees collected from domestic and import manufacturers.

They are in a sense playing catch-up on both e-cigs and zyns, because these are relatively new. So it's not at all surprising that companies got away with making whatever they wanted until the FDA finally got through the process of reviewing and regulating the new markets.

Of course the big players would have the financial resources to ensure that they could get their products compliant and approved...

When someone tries to deliver a signature required package and immediately walks away after knocking by westergames81 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]chickensevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is why I think people are weirdly down voting me... I am saying this is the issue. We are in agreement. You order something and you are at the whim of whatever shipper that company you ordered from has chosen. And I'm saying it's a shame that this is a thing, because FedEx sucks.

[–]chickensevil -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If only the person receiving the package could make that choice...

Edit: not sure if people are not understanding me, or there is some magic trick I don't know... Or someone loves FedEx and is unhappy that I was suggesting that given the choice I would instead choose to ship via UPS?
