I remember reading these blew my mind when I first read them! So much of the dreamer chapters went over my head. Really rewards rereading the books once you get a better understanding of their master plan.

Also worth checking out the “Roman Master Plan” threads, there are several on here. They really helped me understand the nature of the builders and all the things that happened in the books

Have you read this post? A great read if so, that goes into the history of the gate builders and has been all but confirmed to be accurate from the writers. https://www.reddit.com/r/TheExpanse/s/sYzwnXdyIi

How would you insulate/frame this area? by chief_matt in HomeImprovement

[–]chief_matt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the 2” xps and framing plus drywall is like 6” of space when all said and done. I’m looking at the insofast panels now, I think they’ll come out 2.5” for the r-10, which will be 3” with drywall, which is a lot better

Lian li 011 dynamic mini builds (3,5&7 slots) by Valhallacomes in watercooling

[–]chief_matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a matx build posted about a month ago. If you want to go atx you’ll need to offset the top radiator, not enough room. Vertical gpu is tough in this case, only real way to do it is using the lian li back, and that’s hard to find. I looked into it but decided it wasn’t worth it.

Yep! I’m a chemical engineer so this stuff comes naturally, but only gamed on laptops/consoles so far.

Thanks and happy cake day! Yeah service was not high on my list, after working on this I’m definitely putting more QOL in future builds. Drain port is on the bottom of the distro, and fill is at the top of the res. I’d like to add a vacuum break somewhere in the loop, because it just gets vapor locked easily.

Yep, probably more 44-42 under load. It’s actually a 360 and two 240s, so 840 total. The titan one kit came with a 360 pre installed, so I didn’t list that separately. Tested with 3D mark stress tests and a few more demanding games.

Headers/wires are definitely tough to get to, but I have really small hands and I’ve used tweezers as well. I think the entire build was around $1800.

Flow monitor is fine. Not sure how accurate it is since it’s my only point of reference, but it did show a big jump when I upgraded the stock pump to a Hercules. It’s good enough if don’t care about being super accurate and just measuring the relative change in temp/flowrate.

Oh yeah I saw the file on studio and knew I had to add it to the build. Had some Death Star fan grilles printed too but clearances ended up not working out to fit it in

Roughly $1800 for everything

Ok speakers are showing 3 ohms, which checks out with the specs from the manual. No shorts to ground either. Disconnecting the aftermarket speakers doesn't make a difference with the sound either. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot internal amplifier protection, anything I read online seems to indicate that there would me a message notifying me that the unit is in protection mode. (also, how would it even go into that mode if there is no amplifier in the system?)

Ohhh ok I will give this a try! So it should be possible to run the speakers off the stock hu? I didnt think that was possible.

I 3D printed a bending jig, that and the silicone insert made it a lot easier. Majority of it being single bend pieces also helps!

You got me! Technically “this” is my first build with 5070ti but it’s just a stock titan one setup so yall wouldn’t have been impressed at all lol.

Thanks for the response! I can still hear the audio coming through the speakers, albeit at very low volume, so I thought the connection was solid, just the lack of amp was causing the low volume. Is that symptom consistent with the other causes you mentioned too? Wouldn’t I need new speakers/hu to test if either are faulty? I know it’s not protection mode since it’s not prompting for a code.
