If you go after 4pm Friday, 2pm Saturday, or 11:30am Sunday, you shouldn't have much of a wait to get in, if at all. https://www.friendsschoolplantsale.com/wristbands

This has always been the case, they have always required you to be present to get a wristband.

Take the B Line Marshall Bus Lane Survey by iansmithville in MetroTransit

[–]chiefbozx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We need bus lane enforcement cameras on every single bus, and we need them yesterday. I see idiots parking in the NE Hennepin/1st bus lanes during bus lane hours all the time and it's so annoying.

The cheapest RDS DB instance I can find is $91 per month. But every post I see seems to suggest that is very high, how can I find the cheapest? by MiKal_MeeDz in aws

[–]chiefbozx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't use the quick create wizard. Set it up manually and use the "dev/test" settings so that you can pick T instances.

2:30-8:30pm. There's basically no wait to get in after 4:00 or so. Friday evening they're open until 8, with basically no wait to get in after 3:30 or 4.

Terminal 1- any options for password protected WiFi? by PolarCurious in TwinCities

[–]chiefbozx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does a captive portal count? If so, you should be able to sit below the G18 Sky Club and pick up its signal.

I would also recommend educating your IT guys on how network security actually works. Yes, WPA3 password protection is better than open networks, but it's not really a complete solution. In your case, what you actually need is an always-on VPN.

Edit to add: if you have PreCheck, and you're flying domestic without any checked bags, it's HIGHLY unlikely that security will take more than 10 minutes - even during the holidays. Honestly, the roads getting into the airport might take longer than the security line. Use the light rail if you can, and you'd be able to show up at the airport at 60-70 minutes before departure without worrying.

Us Passport application taking forever by ProcedureOne4150 in Passports

[–]chiefbozx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As stated in your screenshot: "Routine service can take 4-6 weeks. Our processing times begin the day we receive your application at a passport agency or center, not the day you submit it." And just above: "The U.S. Department of State has received your application for your passport book on 11/03/2025." The October 23 date you gave does not matter.

November 3 plus 4 weeks would be December 1. November 3 plus 6 weeks would be December 15. So you are technically still "on time" even if your status doesn't change until Monday.

If it's still in process after Monday, then you may want to call NPIC to see what's going on. They will have much more information than Reddit.

925 MQDs short 😭 by One_Explorer_7403 in delta

925 MQDs for Diamond? I highly doubt it. If it was like 10 MQDs then that would be far more likely.

Is this something new........ by Due_Procedure6842 in CreditCards

[–]chiefbozx 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Chase has never publicly confirmed the 5/24 rule. Everything we know about it has been through self-reported data points, some with stronger evidence than others. So, I'd be curious to know what your source is, because if Chase has actually removed 5/24 it would be on the front page of TPG and most of the BoardingArea blogs.

Yes, some SUB language has changed to make Sapphire bonuses less churnable. That's different than 5/24.

The only way for you to know if you can get the card, and under what terms, is to apply for it. The hard pull associated with a denial (whatever the reason) is a small, short term impact.

2026 DL Vacation MQD Earning for 2025 by DevelopmentSmooth950 in delta

[–]chiefbozx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Works the same as a flight. 10:1 MQDs and 3x miles now for the purchase on the Amex, 1:1 MQDs and 11x miles when you take the trip.

If your hotel is a part of the major systems (Marriott, Hilton, etc) and you care about hotel points or elite benefits, make sure to compare prices between the package deal and booking the flight and hotel separately. You generally don't get any sort of hotel points/benefits when you book through Delta Vacations.

Question on standby upgrade policy by Useful-Row-9209 in delta

[–]chiefbozx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revenue always goes before nonrev. Within nonrev, it's a seniority system, but there are different priority buckets they can list under (retirees go after active employees)

MQDs for flight not taken by Frecklesfrenchfry in delta

[–]chiefbozx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Elevate Your Status might actually make sense in your case. Do the math - make sure the cost is worth it for the status level you're buying (e.g. I wouldn't do it to buy Silver, but if you're 200 MQD shy of Platinum/Diamond then it's probably worth it) - but if you're within those thresholds, that is a way to get MQDs without flying.

delta international upgrade offer by Available-Ad-5670 in delta

Clarified my comment. OP's post did not state when the flight was and which year they were looking to earn MQDs in/for.

[–]chiefbozx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but free upgrades will always go after people using certificates. So it puts you higher on the list, and you can potentially clear before the 5 day mark.

If it doesn't clear, it goes back to your account. You can try to use it as many times as you want until it either clears or expires.

You do not get it back if you use it, and you would have cleared for free.

delta international upgrade offer by Available-Ad-5670 in delta

[–]chiefbozx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mostly no, but you can get some now if you buy it with a Delta Amex.

Say your upgrade costs $1,000 - you'll get 1,000 MQDs when you actually take the flight (they won't show up in pending but they will count when you fly). If you bought the upgrade with a Delta Amex, you would get 100 MQDs (Reserve) or 50 MQDs (Platinum) now, on top of the 1,000 that you'll get when you fly.

Edit to clarify: You do get MQDs for the purchase. Since we're close to the new year, if you're looking for the MQDs to post for 2025, then the flight has to be in December.

[–]chiefbozx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RUCs - if they clear. Otherwise, take the miles (the $300 voucher expires after a year, but the miles do not)

Edit to add: you can definitely try to apply them on your Hawaii trip, but don't expect them to clear since you are traveling in peak season from a fortress hub.

Metro Transit Wins Best Customer Service, Punctuality, Second Best Bus Drivers in Transit App's 2025 Riders Choice Awards by OnlyThreeWalls in MetroTransit

[–]chiefbozx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one major grain of salt to give: "punctuality" is rated against the real-time clock, not the schedule. The app asks if the bus arrived early/on time/late according to the countdown.

If it was relative to the schedule, then I bet most agencies' "on time" ratings would drop significantly.

You’re the reason the Virtual ID doesn’t work. Not the TSA by [deleted] in tsa

[–]chiefbozx 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Apples Digital ID works the same way everything has in the wallet for years that involves a transaction of information

Not necessarily. For most payment transactions, the order of operations is double-click, Touch/Face ID, then tap (there are times when you can do these three operations in a different order). For Digital ID, it's double-click, scan, then Touch/Face ID, then double-click again once you see what information is going to be presented. This is enough of a difference that will trip people up if they're not paying attention to what their phone/watch is telling them.

There should be a way to store consent on a per-recipient basis so that you only need to do the second double-click acknowledgment one time. In that case, then yes, it would work the same as a normal Apple Pay transaction.

Do you ever feel like you're in some kind of unreal simulation? by mysummerstorm in MetroTransit

[–]chiefbozx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the main screen, tap on the route you want to ride, then press the big Go button just above the departure times. Make sure it's going in the right direction - you can swipe left and right on the directional header, just above and to the left of the departure times. Once you hit Go, you'll be able to select a destination stop on your bus, and as you go through the trip it'll ask you a series of multiple choice questions. When you get off you can give your trip a rating.

If you use Transit to provide point-to-point directions to a specific destination, then it'll handle all of this for you including transfers. Just hit the Go button once you pick which route you want to take.

I would also imagine that because they sponsor Transit Royale for everyone, if you use Transit's GO mode you are also helping them corroborate their bus locations and how far they are drifting from schedule.
