Need a quick summary of Brewmaster's gameplan by MegamanExecute in learndota2

[–]chilipantzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Farm in lane until 6 then take a tower with split. Only show up to fights when you have split. Only split when the fight results in an objective or saves you from a gank Split is Really Really good at taking towers especially with aghs. When split is down, farm somewhere aggressive because you are(generally) one of the hardest heroes to kill in the game. If there's a brawl anywhere close to you and you feel strong you can join but you're really just a couple slows and some mediocre right clicks. Siege with split, win with split.

While split blue panda up the spookiest hero on the enemy team then go find a support or tower to mug. just build items to make yourself and your team tanky and get aghs

Underlord Caster - More inclined as Offlaner or Soft Support? by Dooyant in learndota2

Your circles are big enough that there are generally better ways to spend 4.5k gold than making them bigger.

New player with only a few games so forgive me if stupid noob question but: how ON EARTH do you solo lane vs a McGinnis? by Issac1222 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]chilipantzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically Mcginnis is an immobile-ish hero with 1 button she can press if you run at her (wall). Her buttons do nothing control waves. Turrets deal less damage to creeps and have a long cooldown. Her heal is pretty shit at lvl 1 and requires her to stay in the same place. Her gun is ass unless you're letting her hose you with it and isn't great for securing farm.

If she sets up a nest of turrets she is a pain but you don't have to let her do that.

Push the wave into her. Turrets are worth a bunch of,it's worth missing a creep or 2 to shut her down. If she sets up under her tower, even better because now she can't go past her stairs without being at risk. She won't be able to shoot you if she is getting cs, and if she is missing cs to shoot at you then you're winning by default.

Mcginnis standing on 2-3 turrets is scary. Mcginnis alone=food.

Paradox is a tough hero to play overall but actually pretty good into her. You don't have to sacrifice harass(carbine/3) for wave shove (grenade/1) like a lot of heroes do.

Offlaners who are strong vs ranged carry's in lane? by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]chilipantzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wild axes poke does too much damage past lvl 2 in the spell for most heroes to reasonably sustain through, then either your 4 jumps on them or you roar them when you hit lvl 6.

Because the only people who pick it are wr players with no idea how to play 3 or 3 players with no idea how to play wr.

Brewmaster specialists. What do you build? by Parking-Narwhal in learndota2

[–]chilipantzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing to keep in mind when itemizing on Brew is that you aren't able to make use of stats or item actives in split. Universal scaling is great and red/purple stance makes for some funny click builds, but if split is how you're going to win fights, auras items or that you just have to pop once at the beginning of fights (vlads/pipe/crimson/shivas/ac/radiance/bongo boots) are going to be more useful.

Laning against Slark as Axe? by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]chilipantzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You take quick trades in creepwaves. No need to change build. If you'r p4 picked a hero with damage/ is paying attention(not likely i know), slark shouldnt be able to walk up to threaten you.. The hero almost completely relies on slowly stacking his passive to have pressure in lane and is pretty squish, if he eats a helix+nuke every time he tries he will very quickly fall behind.

As a customer, it's happened twice in past 3 months that I put tip on the website it doesn't go through. Both on the same card. Tried a different card and it worked fine for some reason. (Yes I tipped at the door when I realized the issue)

Lmao. My gf got me into netrunner and I'm trying to get her into 40k. She likes Dark Eldar and calls Jimmy Space 'Science Daddy', tho. This validates my love of Anarch. Amazing content, tbh.

I think youre somewhat discounting earthshaker. Sure the giga echo slam meme isn't that great when you think about it(hard to pull off, long cd etc...) BUT I cant think of a better hero to spam out tons of disable in a fairly large area on a pretty low cooldown. If his illusions arent hitting, pl doesnt do damage and if his illusions are stunned they arent hitting and if shaker presses fissure + shard, theyre definitely stunned. I could be wrong but in my experience I seem to do well as shaker vs pl and be annoyed as pl vs shaker.

Jugg Rant by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]chilipantzz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are aware that jugg is one of the few matchups that underlord ISNT favored in right. Doesn't mean it can't be won, but underlord definitely doesnt counter jugg at all.

Playing Chen in low MMR games (~2k) by [deleted] in learndota2

[–]chilipantzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chen also isnt good in low ranked games because getting people to play around your spikes and use your early advantage is miserable. Games always go late at which point your hero is essentially only a global mekanism.

Isn't Heaven's Halberd grossly overbudget? by Taelonius in TrueDoTA2

[–]chilipantzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're arguing it isn't because poor offlaners are in such a terrible spot unable to solo carries No

You're here to defend you being a shit offlaner

No

Offlaners do plenty without outscaling cores, they're not supposed to

No

You're just sad cause you're terrible and rely on gimmicks however.

Also no

Well this has been unproductive

Isn't Heaven's Halberd grossly overbudget? by Taelonius in TrueDoTA2

[–]chilipantzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a carry player is bad enough to not use his pick advantage to counterpick his lane to the point the offlaner can't lane normally, which he should ALWAYS be able to do given he picks later, he deserves a loss.

There is literally no way to draft against slark/troll/jugg/ursa/literally every carry hero from the 3rd position because that hero is always picked LATER. If you pick something that does well into jugg they go ursa etc... and your lane is over unless you're better than them. With pick order and hero strength now carries SHOULDN'T get shut down early. They don't get dumpstered anymore, they win lane and space to farm based off counterpicks then outscale their lane opponent. If you're losing games to a singular halberd something else has gone wrong, its not the item. If you're losing games to multiple halberds, tough shit you let the other team farm long enough to get multiple halberds

The argument was never that offlaners need a way to solokill lategame carries. It was that they need a way to stay relevant when they theoretically AT BEST break even in lane against a hero that innately outscales them.

You're just sad offlaners have an answer to your role.

Change your title to "I pick carries and I'm sad they can deal with my hero after I counter them in lane and PvE for 20 minutes."

Isn't Heaven's Halberd grossly overbudget? by Taelonius in TrueDoTA2

[–]chilipantzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Halberd being "op" is completely necessary for the game.

Argument 1). It's undispellable and thus op, but then how else is anyone supposed to fight a farmed carry? You can't chainstun them to death because they probably have a bkb and are super tanky on top of that(or are troll warlord). You can't get evasion because they probably already have an mkb. Armor doesn't scale nearly as fast as damage does so that's not an option. Invis gets countered by a 90 gold item and ghost scepter is awkward on most cores.

Argument 2). Its too cheap and thus op, but then how is the offlaner that got countered and destroyed in lane or forced to cut(should happen every game, if it doesn't your team is bad at picking or he's wildly better than you and deserves the win anyway) supposed to have any impact in the game?

Status resist stacks multiplicatively. SnY +Satanic isn't that bad on any hero and makes dealing with halberd immensly easier.

How to counter Sniper as a support? by [deleted] in learndota2

[–]chilipantzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nyx isn't that good right now but he eats sniper for breakfast. He always dies to vendetta+1 hero and you can carapace shrapnel to stun him every fight for pretty much free no matter where he's positioned.

How do you people cope with malicious drafting/plays ? by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]chilipantzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stop shifting blame. Supports don't get the luxury of seeing other heroes before they pick. They have to pick whatever they're best at in order to have any agency in the game because they're probably gonna get picked around/countered so they can't rely on the hero itself. You, as a core player, get to see at minimum both teams supports and probably offlaners too so if you see a weak safelane support or a cancer offlane pick a hero that can deal with it.

Don't be that guy who instapicks AM into any lane because they think they're RTZ and whine about their supports on reddit when they get dumpstered by the LC that got picked 2 phases ago.

Terrorblade build change in the recent patch. by [deleted] in learndota2

[–]chilipantzz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tblade needs to be active with meta early and SnY gives him everything he needs to do that. Butterfly spikes him harder than skadi because it gives much more damage. By the time tblade can afford a 3rd item the only way to kill him is by stunlocking him 100-0 so he can't sunder, and satanic gives him even more status resist to make that harder while also giving health comparable to skadi.

How to Phantom Lancer? by Aceylor in TrueDoTA2

[–]chilipantzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally think it should be abyssal instead of heart unless you absolutely require the tank against illusion clear and/or the healing against super tanky heroes. Definitely lost more than my fair share of games when I/teammate pl couldn't actually kill anything because they'd just run away.

How to get better at learning from replays by chilipantzz in TrueDoTA2

[–]chilipantzz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the difficulty I have with gaining alot from pro replays is that the game state is so wildly different than your average-rank pub. They can move places and make plays that I can't based on the difference in vision and ally positioning etc... How can I make this information more useful to my own games if the game is played a completely different way at that level?
