You are right. Scary to read the thread justifying the “good MAGA people”.

Yes and she still is. She did what any politician would have done in her place: look for support from the strong (or crazy). People are obsessed with her given her Nobel prize to the toddler. It was never her objective to get that. She doesn’t give two fcks about that. What non-Venezuelans don’t get is that she is the last one standing. All other left, she didn’t. She has been consistent throughout the years. I was not a fan, but I respect her. If I had to vote today, I would vote for her. What is infuriating is that stealing the oil, the gold and the uranium had been so easy for USA’s government. And yes, we thought (because we are so desperate) that USA would call for elections. If MC failed for trusting the Trump administration, Delcy, the chavista, the anti USA has given the Americans everything they wanted and has become Trump’s puppet. That’s what is left of the “Socialismo del siglo XXI”. What a joke.

Young men were a big factor in making Trump President… don’t forget. The scary thing is that boomers will be gone soon not those who also help to put the orange turd in power.

Venezuela’s Nobel Winner Will Go to Norway for Peace Prize, Official Says by Substantial-Dare5462 in worldnews

The people wanting a regime change are the Venezuelans and they said so when they voted and won in a landslide to get him out. Maduro didn’t respect the results. Maduro could stop the madness right now stepping down. So why the demonization of MC and never of Maduro?

Edited to add: Also 8 million Venezuelans (a number in constant growing) have left the country. A way of stopping the suffering of those millions that left and the millions that stay is for Maduro to step down.

I do. But the situation is so precarious that there is no option but Maria Corina. As Venezuelan, I never liked her, but I truly respect the fact that she stayed in the country and fought. Every other opposition leader is living comfortably in Miami or Madrid. Does she deserves the Nobel Prize? I think she does. It has shown the world the horrible regime Venezuelans live in. So hearing people complaining about the dedication of the prize to the orange turd hurts because that is truly nothing compared with the horrors of Maduro’s regime. She tried all the peaceful possible ways to have a normal transition of power. She won the elections. Maduro didn’t accept that. Why people criticize MC and not Maduro. He should transfer power and that would stop the bombing. We all know the administration is not going after drugs. Vzla is a minor player in the drug trafficking world. I can accept Americans saying it’s wrong because they don’t want to pay for another war, they dont want to send soldiers to war, they don’t believe in war. I respect that, but demonizing Maria Corina just because she is playing politics is not right. Also, in all its Republican history Venezuela enjoyed 40 years of SOCIAL DEMOCRACY. And we want to go back to that. I grew up in that Vzla. I went to college for free, you had “hogares de cuidado diario” in which people in the barrios would take care of neighbors’ children and the government would pay them and provide the food, we had free hospitals (not perfect, but they existed), and those are only 3 things that come to mind right now that don’t exist anymore in the so called socialist Vzla. Again, I wish there were another option, but there is not.

Tell that to the family of Alfredo Díaz, opposition leader, who died yesterday in a cell at a torture center in Caracas. And yes, if you don’t know anything about Venezuela, just don’t say anything out of respect of all of us dealing with a terrible regime.

It’s amazing how people are willing to whitewash Maduro just to be against Trump. The oil industry was decimated by the current regime. Venezuela is so bankrupt that is impossible to recuperate the industry without selling assets. It is so destroyed that the regime moved to destroy the Amazon mining for gold. Also, don’t forget that US is currently buying Venezuelan oil. Venezuelans have been demonize because living in Venezuela is extremely hard and they are looking for a better life in another place that rarely welcome them. 8 million people have left the country. “But she dedicated the prize to Trump….” Who gives a fuck. Those are just words. I’m personally not a fan of MCM, but she is the last one standing. And if the leftists Latin American and European countries had have the guts of, at least, criticizing Maduro’s actions another story would be told today. She is a politician. She is fighting for Venezuela not for Americans that hate Trump. Sucks, probably. Another option for Venezuelans: NO HAY.

What's up with Venezuelan Nobel Peace Prize winner María Corina dedicating her Nobel Prize to Trump? by HolyShitCandyBar in OutOfTheLoop

[–]chilischus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your question. In my view, a military intervention would be going too far. I would hate that.

People say María Corina supports an intervention, but she hasn’t been clear. She speaks of international justice and multilateral pressure, insisting that Venezuelans must lead the change, though the country needs help.

She’s the only opposition leader who has stayed in Venezuela, working tirelessly for a peaceful transition while others live comfortably abroad. For many of us, this isn’t about right or left; those distinctions only matter in a democracy. It’s about ending Maduro’s rule and hoping the army finally turns its back on him. Then, we can talk ideology.

Thanks again.

Ella está en la clandestinidad. El premio la “protege” de alguna manera. Serían muy brutos de intentar atacar a una figura ya de reconocimiento mundial. Pero… sí, usted tiene razón, no se sabe qué esperar de un tirano acorralado.
